This is confusing and you have to ask why? AFAIK Bogado is a good winger but do we really have a shortage of good wingers in NZ? I can understand the Crusaders signing Matera this year. He is a world class forward who ended up making World Rugby's team of the year. But a young winger?

Campbell Parata could be worth a go, seeing as it seems he missed out on a Force contract.
Could be interesting to see if they could pull a player from the northern hemisphere or South Africa over. If you are replacing Hunt, you do want to bring in someone in with a similar level of experience.

Because I feel the Canes three options at first five are arguably better than JGB, whereas I’m not sure all the Landers first fives are better than JGB. Doesn’t really matter anyway, he’s in Japan.

Pretty amazing that the landers didn’t try to get Joane or Gatland back.
One of them is likely to be in the stands for the Chiefs (assuming Dmac at 10) and would be first choice at the landers.
