    Looking for recommendations, basically.

Mrs TA thinks it would be a good idea, so this way I get a rowing machine without it being considered a waste of money.

Don't need fancy graphics or any of that sort of bullshit - the ones at my gym are the Concept 2 which has everything you're after, in terms of gadgetry. Give me distance, stroke rate, and minutes/500m.

I'm not a pro or anything, but there's no point me having a gym membership if I'm not going to use it, so this will take its place.

If I can get away with < AUD$1K that would be ideal

    Shoot.

@NTA I'm a big fan of the concept 2 rowers. Make for a great workout too.

Often think about getting one myself, but second hand ones hardly ever show up when I get around to looking.

@NTA I just picked one up today on FB marketplace. Bit rough but does the trick. Concept 2 the buttons don't work on the display but it still comes on so I can see stroke rate/distance/time etc. Will get someone around I saw on gumtree to fix it who happens to be 2 streets over. No rush though.

I went through a lot of articles etc and eventually decided I would rather have a cheap concept 2 second hand off FB marketplace then any other brand. Wanted something where there is lots of comparable data to challenge myself. The guy I brought off had another couple one was $800 in good knick another $1200 with 120kms on it so basically new. I just kept an eye on FB marketplace every day or two. They don't last long.

@Magpie_in_aus Cheers. I asked the guy who runs my gym and he said much the same while recommending the concept 2 - look for second hand through a specialist reseller or private.

New concept 2 is $1600 which is a bit exy.

If I can get below $1100 for near new I'll be happy

Decided to just buy a new one after seeing second hand ones on offer for near new pricing. Hope it gets here soon.

@antipodean am stoked with the one I got. $450 I think it was gave it a good clean and took the display apart and alco wiped it now the display works completely.

Far from good as new but rowing-wise does everything I want. Old model but came up good after a clean. I hate cycling and/or assault bikes so having it in home gym has been great.

Did a challenge the other night get 300m or more in one minute then thirty second break. Did eight rounds arms=cooked. Need to average under 1:40/500m

The post I saw the challenge on tagged ex league player Frank Puletua apparently his record was 42.
