@Chris apparently Canes signed him 🤷🏽♂️
Ok you could be right,I know he had offers from the Chiefs and Canes and the rumour around was he had signed for the Chiefs.
Would not surprise me if it ended up being the Canes. -

Where did you hear that one?

@Chris ironically this is what Scott Robertson was quoted saying when they signed Naholo initially: “Kini is a powerful ball runner and prolific try-scorer, with a really impressive work ethic. We’re looking forward to welcoming him in to the Crusaders and helping further develop his immense talent,” Crusaders coach Scott Robertson said in a statement.

Maybe he was hoping that and it didn't work out that way.

Whose everyone expecting to be the newcomers to be when the squad gets named tomorrow?
Will be interesting to see who they name as the third hooker, even though he didn't take part in the NPC, Raymond Tuputupu might be that guy. He was up there with Lakai as one of the top performers for the Hurricanes Under 20s.
We need another prop so I wonder if PJ Sheck will get that spot after his performances for the Lions or whether Pasilio Tosi keeps his position.
?? around the lock signing. I've already mentioned this on the Chiefs thread but because we've signed Peter Lakai and now have 9 loose forwards, Delany might have to be the 5th lock option cover.
I think the only other area we might see some surprises is in the outside backs. There have been talks that the Hurricanes didn't offer Patafilo enough so he's likely off to the Crusaders. There's murmurs that we've either signed Sinkinson from Waikato or Kini Naholo from Taranaki. (Watch this space)

@Canes4life Wouldn’t Tosi already be accounted for they’d be taking Fidows position wouldn’t they?

Hoping for a tall lock from somewhere!
Bird will be like a new (tall) lock.
Already got him Bov, wouldn't mind another couple, otherwise, reckon you need 3 or 4 tall ones for injury cover etc. You can sneak through with 1 shortish lock, but you need one real good target.

I'm not sure how long Tosi's contract was for, therefore we could be on the hunt for two props.

Can anyone make out the players from this Hurricanes post? I think the front three are Lakai, Higgins and it looks like Jackson Garden-Bachop. I can’t tell who the back two are…
Back left could be Kini Naholo. Definitely stumped on the player on the far right.
-
@Canes4life far right is Graham Rowntree.
-
Going from the below photo in comparison to the above, I’m 100% sure that’s Kini on the left.

Lol it’s definitely a hooker or a prop with that head shape and those ears. 😂
-
@Canes4life right could be Sinkinson, his ears stick out a little bit

Right is defs Sinkinson. Here's the OG.
Nice one, good spot. He looks like a similar height to Julian in that match-up. Does anyone have stats on Sinkinson’s size and weight?
-
@Canes4life no stats but he's quite tall but defs needs some more bulk. Good investment but not Super ready imo, hope I don't eat my words lmao.
