Well, the Crusaders flexed their muscle but left enough doubt with their finishing and silly mistakes at crucial times. Cut out those and it looks pretty ominous. Not been seen all season though....
A couple of takeaways, Goodhue got smoked for pace twice and the Reds scored twice. Huge fan of Jordan but I keep thinking his best position is 14 for the ABs where he has a license to range around and put himself in scoring positions (Jodie has better defense and a better kicking game for 15).

@Old-Samurai-Jack I've already seen people online writing him off, but I think those people should not forget that it takes time for players to get back from the bad injury Goodhue has had. Much more time than you'd think. I think that Fakatava, for example, has progressed much faster than could have been expected. Goodhue returned later and may take longer. Unfortunately, some players don't come back to their old form at all. I hope that's not the case with Goodhue, but - for the moment - I think people should show some patience.

I think Goodhue is good, but I have said for last couple of years probably a 12 because of lack of top end speed.

Something our maligned coaches identified a while back. They wanted his handling and nouse but couldn't see a long term future at 13 (in tier one)

You're right. He knocked it on twice into the Qld player.

    You're assuming:
    a. I could see straight
    b. My judgement wasn't impaired...

    Watching delayed.

That Vunivalu try was bullshit it real time.

Why did they not check that?

It might have been your impaired vision at the time because it was Goodhue's leg that went into touch 😉

Agree. He has always been a bit slow, even when he first came on the scene. Maybe 12 is his position now, but he will play it like an inside centre rather than a second five eight. If the ABs use him there they will probably need a player like JB, BB or Zarn Sullivan at fullback to play the old second five role (which they tend to do now anyway).

Your tights can't be as outraged as they want, your knickers in a bunch, but all the try calls were correct 😉

Crusaders should be up by more.

Having said that I am not particularly worried for them. The smart money has them running away with it in the final 20.

Probably put the mocker on them - which I am ok with. As a Highlander fan I would prefer to avoid them in the final. 🙂

So I got mocked for this but it turned out correct.

Since the only rely to that post was by me congratulating you on your own 'putting the mockers' on the saders call (as the reds scored straight after your post), I don't see how you were mocked?

    Totally.

I shouldn't drink and post on the fern.

    What about posting while hungover?

Ugh haven't been properly drunk like that in years.

Whitelock had his best game for two years. He looked sharp. Good for the ABs.

Not a rule we should implement quite frankly.

Look at Nostradamus here picking Crusaders as a possibility for the final.

Let me put it this way, I could have some fun looking at a number of posts by self-appointed Rugby experts on here who have been calling for Sam Whitelock to be sent to the knackers yard in recent months....
