QF Blues v Highlanders

Well-played Blues. More than deserved that win.
Call me biased, I don't care, but I think MMT was better than Sotutu and Fakatava better than Christie. Also think de Groot was better than his opposite.
Highlanders held back by that stupid red card, and by players who are just not up to it (Banks is just one example).

Not sure about mmt, both were good but different. Christie was rubbish so not hard

Exactly. Both MMT and Sotutu were very good. Fakatava great signs for ABs.
-
@Stargazer MMT played well but Sotutu was my MOTM.
No argument about Fakatava, massive upside, better skill and decision making.

@KiwiMurph I didn't say Sotutu wasn't good. I just think MMT was better in this game.
I meant in this game both were very good.
Whereas Fakatava clearly outplayed Christie.

I'm in for MMT as an AB. Better option than Frizell.
He was good this game but hasn't been the greatest this season. I can't see him getting a place
-
Sotutu showed a full range tonight, all those soft skills as well as power when needed.
-
@Machpants You haven't been watching him well enough then. It took him some time to get back from his injury, but since about halfway throught the comp, MMT has been consistently very good. Just unlucky to get Covid/ flu and another injury during the season as well.
-
Another landers season done.
Few silver linings... De groot, Mikaele-Tu'u, TUJ, FF.
Lost a few to injuries through the season but was always going to be a struggle.
-
@taniwharugby Sotutu's defence has really gone up a notch this year. Becoming a very good and well rounded 8.
-
@Stargazer Yeah De Groot was all over Tuungafasi at scrumtime.
-
@Mattasaurus also feel like Josh Dickson has come of age

Geez, Tony Brown just said he's already flying to Japan tonight!
No party at Tony Browns house! Didn't have much hope if he's already booked the ticket!

Very comfortable second half. Sotutu is a hell of a player, midfield skills, disruptive at the ruck, makes his tackles. Has it all.
And Akira really filled the gap left by Dalton, senior player performance again.
BB continues to drive us around the park and is back to adding his moments of brilliance. Comfortably the best ten in the country.
Romano has been huge for us too, as has RTS. That centre pairing has Test level quality written all over it.
Poor coaching from the Clan not to drag clearly injured players. Dumb from the players to stay out there.
As for the ref, let’s just say I hope that’s the last time we have Angus this season. And @antipodean , o’Thief not seeing a clear knock on two metres away is why he’s not getting the top job. Can barely run the touch.
