Crusaders v Fijian Drua

Nice angle run there, but then loses the ball.
The Drua could be really good in a couple of years with the right coaching a couple more decent recruits and a wee bit.more structure

Christie has to be very much in the discussion for the All Blacks number 7 jersey.
Yeah, nah.

Same as MP, bloody early days, and a really compressed start. The Drua have a chance of going somewhere, whereas, imo, MP will always just be a sixth NZ side, as their international teams totally rely on NZ born and trained players

@antipodean elaborate?
-
@antipodean then you clearly know very little about loose forward play

Lol well over ten real minutes later, they call for an HIA. Pathetic work by the doctors.
No HIA was called for the knee he copped in head when he scored! Not for early clash

I go with anti here, Christie isn't in the picture for test rugby really, a bloody good game against Drua who were getting beaten everywhere isn't how you judge a 7. Hell he not even first choice at Crusaders usually.

Clearly you could explain the massive amounts you know to us plebs please?
Even better if you could slip that info to Papalii, Cane, Savea, Blackadder, Jacobson.....

On what? I'm not the one making the argument here.

Clearly. So he'd be behind Kirifi then? Kirifi missed fewer tackles against the Drua and made more metres carrying the ball. He must be the greatest openside New Zealand has ever produced!

Ok I do think Christie is no where near the AB’s,
But I am 6 Cans of Jack Daniels in and you are being really silly bringing up a useless nuffy like Kirifi, but I see your point. -
@Chris I use him to make my point. I've got form in saying Kirifi shouldn't be anywhere near an All Black squad.
Others have pointed out that a strong game against an opposition who struggles to achieve consistency means less than fuck all.
But against quality opposition like the Brumbies, Christie is riding the pine. Hardly a compelling argument to be an All Black openside flanker.
-
I know it’s off topic But I have just walked into the QLd cricketers club at the Gabba for a Brisbane Heat sponsorship function,First fluffybunny I see is Chris Lynne who whines to me about not getting his Heat contract extended,And I blasted him for not scoring enough runs and thinking he is better than the rest of the team last season gooood start should be fun.
Where is the bar -

No argument from me

I think Christie could be in the ABs conversation in a few years (he's only 24) if he was bigger. He's much better than he gets credit for, but he's too small. I think he's a fair few injuries away from a call-up, but I'd definitely have him ahead of Kirifi.
-
@antipodean for a start a number 7’s main role is turnovers and tackles. Try looking at Christie’s figures for both those stats in the games he has played this season. The only time you need a 7 that has to make you meters is if you have a 6 & 8 who don’t.
-
Yeah, those linking 7s are shit. Especially those who make dominant tackles.
Were you one of those people who kept clamouring that someone else should start instead of McCaw because he hardly made turnovers anymore?
