Fuck I wish he had kicked that.

That would've been so good, so close

Timu was nigh on invisible, which makes Gilbert and TUJ's game even more impressive since they didn't have a first five or centre.

    Tap and go guys.

Kick it out and they get 2 players back into the game.

Of course we don't even find touch. And it works out anyway.

I would have gone for scrum, almost all the force team had to be in the scrum!

I'm not sure but I think if they went for a scrum the YC guy would have come back on, as well as the guy who also went off because of the uncontested scrums.

Tap and go was the way to go. 15 against 12.

No it's not, but hey you go ahead. While we're at it, why are women voting?

Name one example of a player red carded for a head clash before 2018.

Name one example of a woman voting before women began voting.

This again shows that cards ruin games. Just use a report system and replace the offending player.

I broadly agree and have called for that exact system (other than for acts of filth), but we can't blame the refs for applying the laws and guidelines as they've been instructed to do. This is the fault of the players and administrators.

Marshall opening his gob and needlessly giving us more evidence he's an imbecile doesn't change this. What his commentary does is actually breed contempt for the referee. His employers should be ashamed and censured by NZR.

I like Marshall, but gotta agree where you're coming from. Can't be hard for him to criticise a red/yellow card and explain the Ref is applying the guidelines and doesn't have much choice.

Watching de Groot closely in recent games he spends a lot of time sucking in big breaths, and on one knee or getting attention. He could be carrying an injury but I would question his fitness.

Good observation. I have noticed that as well. Now his shoulder looks gone.

Enjoy the win Landers but just like with the Blues v Rebels & the Canes v Drua I don’t think much can be read into this game.

I will laugh if you knock over those Blues in a couple weeks.

I agree there is a lot of cards... Players need to take some responsibility...

Because I can't see how knocking a player out cold due to your carelessness is good for the game?

Highlanders looked fairly average. Scrum was average, Gilbert was fantastic, TUJ looked good and Timu was he even playing.

I don't think whether an accidental head clash should be a red card is as clear cut as whether men and women should have the same human rights.

My point is that you can't expect everyone to automatically adopt the same position at the same time. It's like how it was acceptable to be against gay marriage in 2005 but homophobic in 2010....it doesn't make sense. If someone was still against women voting now, that would be strange and we would just that person harshly. However, that was a reasonable position in the 1890s.

Besides, I was being kind saying 2018. I really could have used 2021 instead. Head clashes have only been a red card very recently. Just because you, and the sports administrators have reached that point this year, doesn't mean everyone who hasn't doesn't care about player safety or isn't knowledgeable.

Well, these are the best players in the world. They are professionals with the best conditioning and coaches, and they have taken rugby to its highest ever level. Despite all that, they cannot comply with the demands of the officials and administrators.

I take a very different lesson from that than you.

Interesting how well Gilbert went tonight, did well, and was helped I thought by the Clan using 9 as the playmaker and helped take pressure off him.

Well, maybe one day people will say the fact that we allow people to play rugby is equivalent to not allowing women to vote. We don't know how people will view an accidental head clash being a red card in the future.

There's no where near as many cards in NH, and their refs are maybe harsher. So I'd disagree with that premise

@Bones it wasn’t a clear red card though. Yellow at best. Rugby has gone soft and all of that..

    Marshall knows best.
