Haha, judging by the comments, it is like the Blues won by 50+ points with only having 13 players on the field.

Hodgman is worth circa 45 points

@taniwharugby they are really good, but sides will back themselves to get up. Their ceiling isn't what past sides have been.
More importantly, the conveyor belt of talent is weaker than it's been for ages
Agree, I and other Sader fans have been beating this drum for a while now. There is not the depth there once was and there are some positions where the starters are just Super level at best. In saying that a couple of youngsters have popped their heads up high enough this year to suggest that there is still some talent coming through.
This has been quite noticeable for the last 3 years, post-2019 season to be precise. I personally can't recall weaker (relative) Crusaders squads in their 27 year history, and the age demographic has been skewing towards younger and the inexperienced & unproven NPC players, many who barely even look comfortable at Super Rugby level.
I definitely believe the Blues should've won the competition in 2020 & 2021, and probably could have if Leon's selections & game-day strategy/tactics had been much better. He committed a series of pretty fundamental coaching and selection errors in the last two seasons gone past and it seems like he's certainly learnt from those experiences now. Schmidt, obviously has made an enormous difference, the Blues players are speaking of him incredibly highly in camp & his influence is extremely noticeable to me, they're very fortunate to have him on board for this season.

Zarn just oozes class
I agreed with all your posts on the game, but this most of all. Sometimes a bloke just looks a cut above, and he seems to really have it. Time, distance off the boot, just looks comfortable.
Class
Yet, he doesn't get a start.

Where's @Canerbry?
And if he hasn’t posted on this thread, he’s still contributed to it more than you have…
Scott Barrett may as well be Victor Matfield or Bakkies with his level of dumb thuggish play.

@shark Ah, so butt-hurt that you can't even manage the haughty and drawn-out strops you threw when the Chiefs won the championship and you became immensly upset that everyone viewed Rennie as a better coach than Blackadder.
One loss and the Blues squad is so inadequate at this level they can't possibly have won.
More made-up bullshit. Absolute fucking garbage.
I never liked Blackadder and most would realise that, so you've made that blatant lie up outta nowhere.
And I've fully credited the Blues for their win, despite having a lesser squad / 23 than the Crusaders.
If there was a bullshit-o-tron on TSF, and it booted you off once you reached a certain level, you'd be long gone.

No one does grumpy posts like a disgruntled saders fan.
Most of them are fine. There's one who forgets to take his meds every now and then
The moment they start calling any and everyone a fuckwit proves they’ve lost any semblance of an argument.
Just one fuckwit.

What I think you'll find, is actually taking a lorazepam on top of about 12 beers, a glass of rose and three cocktails of the day, possibly isn't the greatest combination for inducement of thoughtful commentary. But I stand by my assessment.

@shark but what was the COTD more importantly.
Fucking parrot fish. And yellow fin tuna. I'm a bit sick of tuna.
You are a braver man than I when it comes to cocktails

Watching the replay now.
Marshall: Christ what a piston wristed gibbon
Yeah.
Anything in particular?
Think I saw he said Barrett's deadly skull attack wasn't on purpose

Jesus Barrett S just went for it. Insanity. Could have pulled out of that
How did the refs miss these red cards in real time?
Christ, ScoBa should get 8 weeks for that. Filth.
So Nepo should have got 8 weeks, too?
6 weeks for sure. ScoBa had time to pull out. Both insane in the modern game
And waking up early after a lovely bottle of red with the game, height is the key differentiator between him and Laulala. Shoulder to head on someone standing at full height won't look good at the judiciary, particularly with time to pull out.
Laulala was just a stupid thuggish act. Not that different, but lower
Turns out a nice cab sav is truth serum watching a replay. Fun game.

Man, I missed all the fun.
All is right in the world when toys are being the out of pram like that. Pretty upset for a game he couldn’t be bothered to watch.
Not possible in the Cook Islands.
How can anyone be so grumpy when on holiday in raro ? Is it cos the brewery closed ?
