I don't think that was deserved. He had his hand on the ball as he made the tackle and still had his hands on the ball when he went to ground. It's a penalty, but shouldn't be a yellow.

I don't think it was cynical. That's the point. I think his hand was on the ball already and he just kept it there.
The last bit is why it's cynical under pressure.
It was microseconds in it, which makes it not cynical for me.

It's not conscious for me. The hand is already there. The conscious decision would be to remove the hand. However, it all happened so quickly, I don't think he had a reasonable amount of time to do it.
