Blackadder was the standout Crusader to me by a country mile.
Yep, he was great. Huge engine that never seems to empty. He just keeps going and going. Love to watch it.
Newell, Havili, Fainga'anuku pretty good, too. The new lock looked handy in the line-out.

@kiwiwomble I'm not sure when you're talking about, doesn't really matter though eh.
I just can't wrap my head around half of the shit Hunt does. He put a bomb up for the last pen kick to touch! Why can't he kick like any other average first five?
I wasn’t even defending hunt was my point…was just that ioane wasn’t the answer as we’re were saying all the same thing about him
I'm not sure about that. Wasn't saying you were defending him though! Out of the two players, I know which one I'd pick to ride through a rough patch...
Really? Now maybe, he seems to settled down at the chiefs but I remember lamenting ioane doing chip and chase from our own 22 kind of shit all the time, poor kicking stats and hands like feet
Oh he definitely had a patch where he wasn't up to his usual standard - but I don't recall so many remote sized holes in my tv screen.
I honestly think it’s because when ioane was shitting the bed we pulled him and had hunt and gatland to “cover”

Two weeks in a row that the opposition have strolled in for a try through the midfield.
Not so sure that LF is doing such a great job on defence -

Not so sure that LF is doing such a great job on defenceIt wasn’t his fault last week that was Fihaki,LF was defending at first five as Mounga was on the wing and Fihaki had come into centre.
This week Havilli flew up out left the hole. -

Tonight he drifted out too early, last week he moved in to cover a channel covered by the forwards and it meant that three players were defending 30+ metres width.
“From a certain point of view” -

“From a certain point of view”How could any midfield expect Hunt isn't going to grubber it back into the forwards?

@crucial said in Crusaders v Highlanders:
Part of the 13s job is to organise the defence. Especially the midfield defence.
Things have changed from my day then when it was the 12's responsibility - defending is hard enough at 13 without having to worry about turning inside to tell them what to do, that wouldn't make much sense. 12 should be leading and be the voice.

“From a certain point of view”That is a set defense by the crusaders defending their line.
They move LF to first five Mounga to the wing and bring the wing into centre,
It’s hard to defend the MF when you are placed at First five as part of a defensive pattern. -

12s job I played 12 always 12s job as he can defend inside or out.
13 is too far out to defend the inside Channels.Different styles I guess.
10 And 12 connected. 13/15 and wing connected. 12 and 13 work together.Gee. No one told Conrad Smith it wasn’t his job to organize defence.
I don’t know the Crusaders system but something isn’t working right in that area when the same thing happens two weeks in a row.

Not sure anyone told him it was either...
Initiative? Either way he was pretty good at it.

I'm really keen to know what the constant bass pumping at the ground does for the atmosphere? It's annoying on TV, so imagine it wouldn't be great live.
Also, did anyone notice Reece exaggerating getting cleaned out so that he landed on his head/neck? He's a good player, but he makes it hard to like him

Depends how they set their defensive patterns now .
First fives don’t defend in the inside channels much these days,
LF comes into first five to defend the big munters running the inside channels close to their line.Mounga normal goes to the blindside wing same as the Blues do with BB a lot. -

Pretty good at organising the outside and spotting when he needed to stick - fella inside him was also pretty good at it eh

Only got to watch the last 20 minutes... in that time the Highlanders had most of the possession/territory, but lacked the execution & patience to win the match.
From the first video replay it was clearly obvious it was a red card... for the officials to check the replay 3 or 4 times to finally work out it was a red was a joke.
