It’s brilliant apart from Verstappen. Loads of actual races going on.
I do wonder if/when RB sponsors will get arsey tho as he gets less coverage than woujd be expected of the leader. The racing is simply elsewhere.

Yeah, can't remember which race, but basically didn't see Max from about lap 3, until the very end of the final lap. I notice this race they actually made a thing of showing him on the final lap.

I’ve been watching the races. There’s not much worth commenting on. The best storylines are about next year

Overtaking does still seem to be quite difficult, although One thing there is a clear reduction in though is retirements / crashes. I obviously don't want anybody to get hurt, but they do add an extra element to it. Nothing like seeing a car blow up with smoke everywhere leaving a trail of oil all over the track to mix things up a bit.
I think some of the malaise is due to the size of the cars. They had the full line up at Monaco and modern F1 seem to have almost twice the footprint of even 10-15 years ago. That has to make overtaking more difficult.

Fuck yeah Lando, thata boy!
-
@No-Quarter finally he's finished first after so many podiums.
-
Pretty on the nose for Sainz that he gets a penalty for pretty much doing the exact thing Piastri did to him. Glad it didn't really cost anything.
Otherwise, great to have an actual race!

Good to see Leclerc win his home race
Constructors championship might be a contest now. I can see the second best Ferrari doing better than Perez in a lot of races

@Duluth was do as fuck though, no overtaking, to ten on grid finished in that order
It's Monaco with enormous cars. The racing is done on Saturday.
Leclerc's management of the race was excellent yesterday; keeping the McLarens within a pitstop window of Russell so they couldn't swap to better tyres without losing position.

Well that was bloody fun eh. Good old British weather.
Not a fan but pretty hard not to be stoked for Lewis. Poor George though.
-
Great race. Lots of lead changes. We’re McLaren fans here but they stuffed that up a bit. Really hoping Perez gets ditched by red bull opening a place somewhere for Lawson.
-
@Billy-Tell pretty sure Perez just signed an extension, hence the reduced results which seems to be his thing.

I don't think he's a particularly good driver. But his commercial clout keeps him in a seat right now
-
Wonderful GP.
Never been a Lewis fan but very happy for him.
McLaren team let down their drivers. Gutted for them but overshadowed by happiness for Lewis.
-
@Billy-Tell that's QI, but I still can't see it happening. I'd be very surprised if they expected him to gain twenty points on Max for the rest of the season.

@Billy-Tell
All Kiwi F1 followers should be McLaren fans. After being very boring for several years, F1 has suddenly got interesting.
Maybe half a dozen drivers can win at the mo.
And Max has had some learnings in the last couple of weeks―learnt how to be overtaken! And without driving like a DH!

I disagree, I think Red Bull are the team to follow Kiwi or not.
I do agree that it is way more interesting now without the Reb Bull and Mercedes dominance. -
Haha
There is pretty much nothing I like about Red Bull, except the fact that they put a lot of money into all sports.
-
I dislike the way they rename all their sports teams Red Bull, or attempt to.
I dislike the way they change all their sports teams colours to their corporate colours.
Imagine what it would be like if all the main corporate sponsors did this.
The Red Bull All Blacks with red, white and yellow trim.
Nah.
And....Red Bull the product....disgusting....

I did not think of it that way but it is a very valid point. They use there team more to promote there company rather than the sport. We are seeing the same thing happen in Americas cup

Ok fair enough. I do agree with the money fact as it grows the sport massively.
-
Looking forward to the Belgium GP. What do you predict the grid will be? who will start from pole?
-
That was a brilliant race by Russell. Guy has no luck and his team should take a long hard look at themselves.
-
Yeah.
Great racing now from the top 8.
Gotta be careful with any adjustments you make now, easily make your car slower.
Tyre management critical.
Thought all the cars were pitting for tyres to early.
Hamilton said his tyres were still ok both times he pitted.
Russell's one stop strategy was an obvious move to me.
Not sure the weight issue would have made any dif in the actual race, DQ was fair tho.
Weight is black and white.
Although...they did weigh him twice (smack on first time)...must of made the officials suspicious...
Mercedes engineers probably knew they were going to be in trouble while the race was still on.
Left 2.8 litres of fuel in the tank! -

Danny looks like he's going back to RB
Might clear the way for Liam Lawson to join whatever they call Alpha Tauri now. I would have been surprised to see LL elevated directly into RB from the reserve spot
-
@canefan Hopefully, but Perez comes with a bucket of cash in Spanish speaking sponsorship.

Yeah. He is performing like shit at the moment though, just a waste of space

Possibly made it that little bit easier to fend off Hamilton at the end and also keep some life in his tyres with only one stop?
Rules is rules
Thanks mate

Perez is lucky he's such a financial power, because he's certainly not doing his talking on the track right now

He's certainly doing his talking on the track, he's talking bullshit
If he keeps his form up it could make the race for the constructors Championship interesting
-
-
Constructors championship should be a good fight now. Particularly with Perez not helping much
-
-
@canefan Stroll hasn't been doing that much worse than Alonso lately. There are worse drivers for you to bitch about.
I'm intrigued to see how shit that Williams actually is next year now, whether Sargent was on a hiding to nothing and Albon is as good a driver as the pundits suggest.
Brundle suggesting there will be 5 antipodeans driving next year.
