@Bones Isn't that inevitably the case.

All the legends of the last 50 years almost inevitably had a far superior car.

Alonso and AM would have to be happy with their efforts though.

F1 has always been a technology battle, always struck me as odd in regards to the ego's of some F1 drivers knowing full well that if next year they got a dud car they'd be struggling at the foot of the table regardless of how hard they tried.

Still keeps the sport entertaining I guess.

Jesus fuck. Unreal to be on board with Lance just as he hit the wall. That was massive and great to see he's ok immediately. Amazing safety in these cars now eh

Lawson makes q3, gets 10th 5 spots ahead of Tsunoda.

Awesome qualifying both Red Bulls out Q2.

    Norris destroys Piastri.

Great result for Lawson, looking quite at home under the ‘bright lights’ of F1. Riding a positive wave and that’s what being a rookie in F1 is all about! Onwards and upwards, would be amazing if he could pick up a points finish in one of these two opportunities he probably has left this season.
Piastri hasn’t looked quite as comfortable on track at Singapore so far, few good laps but not consistently comfortable. No doubt will be looking forward to also having the full set of upgrades Norris was running on his car for Suzuka.

Also, nice to see Verstappen and Red Bull are not unstoppable. Not hooking it up in practice doesn’t usually stop them hitting the right lines come qualifying. Will make for an interesting race where overtaking is not so easy.

    Race of the season!

Awesome Sainz / Norris at the end, and points for Lawson.

    Brilliant stuff

After watching a bit of Drive to Survive, I totally agree. I did not realise how much having commercial backers who will bring money to the team matters. Lawson is a very talented driver with much less backing. But either way he will be a success, whether it be for AT or RB in future, another F1 team, or in Indy car or anyone else who will pay drivers to race

He's Japanese in a team with Honda engines. The person to move on would be Ricciardo, but they probably want him for car development.

He's still a RB academy driver. But when he leaves, if he doesn't get a seat with them he's put himself out in the shop window if other teams are looking for a talented young driver who can earn points. He took 3 races to get 2 points, Tsunoda has accumulated 3 points after racing every GP this season

Lawson managed to finish ahead in the feature race though, holding off Tsunoda for several laps on shit tires. He continues to impress

Yup. It's all about the money. Good thing is Lawson has put himself firmly in the shop window for top level drives. It'll be F1 or Indycar, but the likelihood is the kid from Pukekohe will get paid soon

Yeah was it almost twenty laps or something? Brilliant. Odds on that bet would've been phenomenal.
