NRL 2022

Panthers roll on. Nothing short of their unbelievable luck with injuries suddenly deserting them can stop the Panthers making the GF
Cowboys still 2nd, and are now a "good team" because they got an absolutely dud call go their way to win a game.
Cronulla stay 3rd despite losing to the Panthers (were in it for a long time)
Brisbane are now 4th and look good to hold that spot
Melbourne are fucked
Souths are proof positive that good players make good coaches. A month ago Demetriou couldn't coach, now the Bunnies are smokeys for the GF with Latrell back
Parra as a club have bipolar.
The Roosters got handed the worst defensive team in the comp to get themselves back on track.Manly, St George and Canberra all still in the hunt
The Dogs continue to show they are the best of the available destinations. And also maybe potter can coach a bit
The bottom 4 suck. At least on the Gold Coast he is playing kids to develop them for the future. The others are going nowhere.
-
@antipodean absolutely both Tigers fans and Warriors fans will have seen a fair bit of this and even Cowboys fans as well over the years. There is definitely an unconscious bias that sees bottom teams get dud calls, but that one was not even a dud call. The ref and the bunker forgot the rules completely and just got it completely wrong.
-
and i thought Kasey Badger deciding Savage didn't strip the ball off Jazz (despite, you know, wrapping up the ball and ripping his arm backwards) was the worst call the bunker would make all weekend

St George in the hunt, but I don't see them troubling anyone
anyone from second to probably about 9th can win on any given day, but they will all need their top cattle to do it. Melbourne look gone. If Latrell doesn't lose his cool, Souths will go on a big tear. Funny how he makes not only the coach but Cody look better
bottom four are toast, however that was a good effort from the Tigers

nope, finishing 8th and going out in the first week of the finals is their absolute ceiling (actually, that could be Griffin's wiki page)

Penrith at $2 to win the prem, then something like $8 for the cows, some serious value, for any of the teams outside of Penrith to get some serious return. Sure, Penrith deserve to be favourites, but they're beatable and the closer chasing teams just need to stay in the hunt (and opposite side of the draw)

yeah $2 is ridiculous when GFs can go a bit funny.
-
@bayimports That seems like something we'd do.
-
@Dice @bayimports and pay overs for him….
What an egg.

lol another 4 year contract
-
fuck the NRL is absolutely killing it
First we have the refs completely robbing the Tigers
Then Proctor commits Titans suicide by social media (off to the Dolphins?)
And now 7 dickheads from Manly won't play this weekend because the jersey has a rainbow stripe on it. -
@mariner4life yep I suspect Proctor probably feels ok about his stupidity because on any normal week he would probably cop more heat, but given what else is happening it gets glossed over more lol
-
Proctor doesn't have enough oxygen reaching his brain to add in some flavoured vape. Even by NRL standards he's made heaps of dumb moves on and off the field. But recording yourself vaping during the event? fucking vapid.
-
in one of the more interesting rules of contracts in the NRL is this Aug 1 deadline allowing players to switch for remaining games. Hence the Storm were on a fishing expedition to potentially land Walsh until the end of the season. David Nofoaluma has supposedly signed now for the Storm for the remainder of the year, from my mind this is not a bad signing. Although lately on the outer at the Tigers, his work ethic alone might help them arrest their fall.
-
Validates the Storm did actually talk to the Warriors
-
Good effort by Manly last night.
I'm bullish on the Warriors tonight. Melbourne are struggling, and we haven't lost at Mt Smart for 150-odd weeks
But in all seriousness. Jazz is still fucking playing. Walsh is back in for what ever reason. SJ is still playing for some reason. We are about to play the Storm back in to form. You can thank us later Craig
(i might watch the 2011 Prelim instead of the live game)Parra v Penrith is suddenly huge for Parra's season.
Canberra need to win all the soft games they have left. Right now they don't come much softer than the Titans
Cronulla v Souths should be an absolute cracker
Can the Tigers put last week behind them and knock over the Broncos?
Sunday is a bit meh unless the Cowboys can come back to life (Cotter back in is huge) -

Sunday is a bit meh unless the Cowboys can come back to life (Cotter back in is huge)Often if you take a few key players out of a team like warriors the white flag is put up before half time, respect to Manly for sure for hanging in there. Melbourne have to beat us, I don't necessarily think it will be pretty, but I doubt they lose to us.
This week should play out as you have above, -
Looks like Marty Taupau may have found a new home and thanks to the Aug 1 deadline may have played his last game for Manly. The next big question for Parramatta is do they get him and keep Ipap..big for Parra if they get both
