Scots V Palmy Boys
Stream V HastingsThese are two bangers to kick off the weekend. Hopefully Scots have all their players healthy and should push Palmy boys. Stream look to be a game or two away from being in tip top shape but could scare Hastings
-
Napier looked very good during preseason. There was a link to a livestream of the Town v Napier game a week ago, but it has disappeared. Definitely a game to watch. Unfortunately, at the same time as the Silverstream v Hastings game.
Not sure whether I'll be able to make it, but if I do, it will be a hard choice between those two games.

@Stargazer
Town look weak and in a rebuild. Have good size but lack cohesion. Napier will be one of the best in the country and dont really see any team in Wellington pushing them.
WC look to be building slowly but maybe a year past their best. Rongotai are on the rise and will trip up one of these top 4 this season. Stream look strong again with a hefty looking forward pack and skillful backs. Scots are Scots. Recruit. Recruit. Recruit. -

I went along to watch Hamilton BHS vs MAGS. Josh Lord was also a spectator for a while.
Final score was Hamilton BHS 40 - MAGS 7 (HT: 21-7)
Speaking to one of the HBHS support staff, this was closer to a first-choice team than that which played Westlake.
-

In 6 years time there will be more players from the losing teams in the Canes than from the winning teams.

@Nepia The second round of the Tranzit Series is in Napier this Saturday. I hope to get along to watch NBHS take on Wellington College, despite promising to be at another nearby park to watch an Under 21 game at the same time. College have a first five that is getting big wraps at the moment by the name of Stanley Soloman (comes out of my Axemen Club). He is the son of former Black Fern and current Wellington Centurions President Erin Rush (who was my mother's mailman for a period a long time ago!!!!). Hopefully will run into her and Solly on the sideline.

@Higgins theres a few 1st 5s in Wellington showing out at the moment. Rongotai have a good year 13 at 10. Bernards have a league kid playing 1st 5 who goes well. Scots bought a kid in from up north or Aussie i hear. Mana college might have the best of the bunch, the young kid with the step and crisp pass. Pats have a good left footer running the cutter. So many options

Mid-week fixtures
Tue 10 May 2022
Auckland Grammar School v New Plymouth BHS - 12.15pm at AGS
Wed 11 May 2022
Hato Pāora College v Whanganui CS - 12.30pm at HPC
Otago Schools (Division 1)
Round 1
Southland BHS v John McGlashan College - 1.15pm
If I find more mid-week games, I'll add them to this post. -

Can I remind you that three of the schools you mentioned were on the receiving end of what must have been disappointing scorelines in the Tranzit Series for those concerned. Imagine what those might have been like had it not been for the first fives you mentioned! Could it be that there is another JGB out there lurking awaiting their Hurricanes contract? Still it was only preseason as they say.......................................
