I’m not sure how 414-4 can be considered disappointing…..but after yesterday it really is.
If we get close to 600 today we can go all out and knock them out in a couple of days. Bowlers will be keen to make amends

That's right, after such a brilliant start we're taking the foot off the throat a bit.

Since a lot of them appear to be following last weeks effort.., Im picking 475 all out, what a waste of an amazing first day

Disappointing to lose 4 wkts in that session,
Once again it puts the importance of your tail being able to contribute.
We need to make 600 here, 7 down need to show some ticker and contribute,I don’t want to see a 3rd rubbish performance in a row by the lower order.
Disappointing for Latham after he has batted for 8 hours so far. -
How long should we bat - if we get the choice? Or to put it another way, at what score should we cut loose and just try and score as quickly as possible. Ordinarily I think an hour after tea is ideal to declare. In this case I think that's an hour too long.
I tend to think we should not want to bat long after tea. Inclement weather forecast and a pitch that is still doing something suggests to me we should be putting the hammer down risking not getting quite as many as we would like.

Blundell has his average back above 30 again. Blast as many runs as possible till tea seems like a good plan now. Only caveat is if Latham can (quickly) get close towards the next milestone...
That does appear to be what they are doing. Both batsmen looking positive in the last few overs.

Nice way to bring up the 250

Fuck
yeah, but looked like they had pushed the "go" button, could be some big swings from here on out..
probably didn't want any milestone from him being an issue either

I am OK with it. I think I prefer to get 550 all out in 5 sessions than 620 in 5 and a half sessions. Ideally another 100-120 before tea, but not worried now. I want to bowl.

wow early declaration
-
@damo said in Black Caps v Bangladesh 2022:
A fraction early.
We could have kept swinging for another 5 or so overs. Might have scored another 50. If Latham thinks 520 is enough then there's no issue with losing our last few wickets cheaply.
Maybe not Thinking maybe overs left in the game with weather dicey on day 4 and 5.
If we can use the pace and bounce well,
it will trouble the Bangladesh bats,
This Wkt will suit Jamieson especially. -

I agree this is a pitch that Kylo in particular will enjoy. Wagner too.
