Wags left to defend 11 runs...
Taken up where he left off batting. Duck egg.

No demons in the pitch all of a sudden...
The Demons of Disciplined Bowling? Or the Demons of Wide Short Pies?
From cricinfo it sounds like the latter, hoping for a catch in the gully through the age-old adage of shit gets wickets.

Craps bowling has been a collective pile of shit.

Lot of talk about bowlers but batting lineup is the issue - as it was in India. Looking particularly at Taylor, Nicholls, Blundell and Ravindra. Would like to see their combined a averages across the India series and this test match?
Taylor is going, Nicholls will be safe cos of that 75 ( although Rossco leaving helps his cause )…..but massive question marks over the other two.
Who is next in line as keeper ?
Early days but is Ravindra anything other than Santner mark II at this level ?
Cleaver is next in line as keeper and he has been in excellent form in Super Smash and also has good form in the Plunket Shield. I think he is a much better batsman than Blundell and the selectors should definitely consider making the switch but I don't see it happening (they like to stick with their players and Blundell was Watling's designated backup for a long time).
Ravindra is being picked more for his potential future as a top order batsmen (he is actually an opener) rather than a replacement for Santner (whose test bowling is so bad the selectors don't mind picking a part timer over him). If you look at Ravindra's domestic record it is not actually that great (he certainly hasn't dominated like Williamson did) so his selection is more based on potential and reputation from age group cricket. Hopefully he can fulfill his promise and become the batsmen we are hoping he will be, I do find it a bit strange the selectors are batting Blundell above him.

You nailed it smart game plan well executed by the Bangladesh.
Southee looking like he’s done bowling the shit he has delivered no intent.
But he will be selected again and again to keep delivering short shit or half volleys at 120ks.
Frighting stuff for the opposition. -

Well, the sentimentality around 'giving Rossco a farewell tour' is possibly backfiring a bit now. The runs that Taylor and Nicholls have scored also haven't been chanceless.
Blundell should be the most under the microscope though. Also Luke Ronchi.
I don’t remember Nicholls giving a chance in that 75 ?.
Or did I miss something. -

Or did I miss something. To be fair, that was one of his more consistent efforts. My sun fried brain is possibly conflating innings plus the Indian tests.

An 8 wicket loss to the Bangles, you couldn’t script it but that is what we love about sport. It’s unpredictable, the against all odds can actually happen, underdogs do get up from time to time.
There will be massive questions asked about our prep, selections, captaincy and individual performances. And so there should be, but I tip my potae to the Bangles and the way they went about it. Their application and energy seemed a cut above any of their recent performances and more importantly in this match above ours.
Congrats.

Classic, now that there is a rain delay in the Ashes, Aussie radio can’t get enough of our loss 😀

This really is a disappointing result and it had to happen at sometime given the age of our bowlers and some batters.
Still suuuucks that the drop off the cliff is so rapid.
Funny that after the first test in India, I was hopeful and maybe expectant of our first series win over there.......
