Also true.
Hope we didn't damage it too much in the years we had it, before it became a concocted little tournament with the sole design of England winning it, and then failing.
Ah, glory days.

Aussies should be able to put a strong bowling attack together, and with Manus how could they lose?!
Batting collapses. That's how.
Who's the new captain going to be? Or do the ACB reinstate Smith?
Don't think they can, politically speaking.
Cummins is the name being bandied about. He's a guaranteed selection, beloved across the nation, and photogenic to boot.
Fast bowling captains aren't that common, though. I'm really not sure which way they'll go.
captain in name, but shots called by Steveo?
Never felt Steve was a particular good captain, though. I'm not talking tactically, I don't really remember anything good or bad on that front. I'm talking body language, control, calming hand etc.
Not enough 'there' to go back to officially, also I don't see enough there to be a behind the scenes puppet master.
No doubt, if Cummins captain, he would get advice by senior players, and players fielding behind the wicket. Which would be Smith.

To quote Jeff Thomson I think the Aussies could turn up pissed and still win this. A handful of absolutely class players ( plus a few passengers ) at home vs a pretty shite England team ? Should be easy.

Thing is, with the current practice of taking fast bowlers off the field for a rest, how does that work?

Probably Lyon.

Never did Bob Willis, Wasim Akram or Courtney Walsh any harm.
Modern players are such pussies.

@nta genuinely as good a series as any bowler has had. He was terrifying.
I was giggling like a schoolgirl from the point where he blew through Cook in the second Test (Wicket #10) - it was two-thirds up off stump and just pure fire.

/Selfish/ That post makes me happy as we need a wet track for Polly Grey at Rosehill /selfish/
Race 4? I'm down the Ettamogah pub doing the rugby club raffle right now, and told a couple of blokes who like a punt. They're on it at $6.
