@taniwharugby if we don’t play in the forwards against the French well no for sure the Foster and Co have no idea. Any back playing on the platform we are offering won’t succeed. It will be interesting to see the response.
If we don't meet them up the guts we are going to lose

@nzzp I think it is more when they are being pressured and not going forward, then we struggle at present.
This is where we need a ball runner in the backs, right now, as you say, we are lightweight, aside from Rieko our entire backline is sub 100kg, and when we are struggling to break the gainline with guile, we dont even have power to break it anymore.

I wonder if the AB passive D is also built on a 'last 20' mindset, where we want to really cut loose and win the game there.

@mn5 the online stats have him at 96kg, which when I went to school, is less than 100kg.

Yup. We are still using the 2019 RWC game plan of trying to outflank the rush. But we seem to get too isolated and turn the ball over at the breakdown. Smash them up the guts, make sure we are physical at the cleanout, make them stop us going down the middle, lets see how that turns out

As if Jordie Barrett's skill set and athletic ability weren't enough, the twice-capped All Blacks phenom has been 'bulking up' ahead of Super Rugby.

Yep. ALB's injury has expose the bareness of the cupboard. We didn't have a settled 12/13 in 2019, but it did have some experience.

Agree although I need to rewatch that game. Must be getting old.

I hope we are not that cocky with such a strategy. I think our defense against Ireland was pretty good. I just don’t understand accepting the concept of playing defense. We are going to wear out our forwards with such a strategy. Surely at least a 50 percent possession stat should be a goal.

Fosters answer throw the backs under the bus,he is challenging them to get better, because he is pretty happy with his forward pack,What about you getting better Foster and your coaching group.
His latest comment in the media, I didn’t even bother to post it but it’s on stuff,
He has no clue just pass the blame on.
Nothing about tactics or we need to get better as a coaching group, just it’s everyone else’s fault. -

Stark contrast with Henry/Hansen/Smith, who openly copped being outcoached -- and swapped roles to try and lift/bring a fresh perspective to various areas.
Remember when our lineout was absolute pants? I do, it was just terrible. The 2000's were deeply frustrating as a supporter at times

Players should get weighed in before games just like boxing and MMA. That way if they play poorly we can criticise the heftier players for too much KFC and the lighter players for not hitting the gym hard enough.

@canefan maybe it is because our tackling is not dominant. We are going backwards. I mean a year or so ago Ofa was knocking people backwards. What happened. That’s why Akira needs to be in and not saying he is the solution. The engine room needs to improve.
