One bad year when we lose 3 games and all of sudden the structures we have that have been so successful for so long are defective.?
Therein may lie the problem - the structures may no longer be free of considerable defects.
There seems a real lack of players who can keep their cool under pressure at Test level. Mo'unga and Havili may look like a million dollars at SR level but really, really struggle under pressure at Test level - as we have seen tonite and in other matches. Ball handling skills in the tight 5 seem to have dropped away as well.
But one year of mediocre results is not enough evidence to support the hypothesis. We are at the end of a long year, been away on a tour since god knows how long (since the 3rd Bledisloe in Perth) . In that tour we lost 3 times, and won 7.
No team in any sport can win every game every year every time.
The Green Bay Packers have the highest winning percentage in all games since 1921. Their win rate is 0.573.

Some good analysis from Goldie. He does not look happy.

Feel a lot better after second half. ABs much the better side in the period.
I’d say Barnes was worth ten points to French.
Post mortem due on first half where we were flat and error prone.
Off the cuff, I’d say we erred by not hammering up the guts before trying to spread it wide.
It’s almost as though the players took matters into their own hands after halftime.
Not sure about back substitutions. Thought Tuapea/Ioane looked good.
And Bridge was solid!!!! -

It's probably 5 years if you take a broader view, as the game plan hasn't really changed, nor the selection policy. What is our record in the last five years versus the previous 15?

Yeah how can Foster survive the summer? That was a joke.
When was the last time an AB coach was fired?
Poor selections, poor game plans and no improvements after poor games.
Why keep him?
I can't even remember the last time a Super coach was fired, if ever? Maybe Jed at the Blues?

@nostrildamus I am trying to figure how I was associated with Foster? Definitely not on my Christmas list.
did I quote the wrong poster? sorry.
Edit I was replying to @mofitzy_ who in that post had your name not sure why. -
@delicatessen
No, but he never deserved the job based on his CV. No one likes seeing the bosses grandson get promoted over competent employees. Especially not when he is a dullard.Remind me how the Habsburg Empire went? Did incest work for them?

So what is the deal with the forwards deciding to take it up the guts every now and then, and we suddenly look dominant? Is that them saying to hell with Fosters game plan and just doing what they want? I just don't understand why we wouldn't do it from the get go, we'd wear teams down and then run rampant in the 2nd 40 if we did. But instead we try to play Helter skelter bullshit from the start of the test which opposition defenses just eat up.
Couldn’t agree more.

@nostrildamus I’m confused too. I should have quoted @mofitzy_

Designed to frustrate us? They try a (new) strategy, it works, so they abandon it..

@damo maybe if you take out games against Fiji and Tonga? it would add more perspective.
I didn't mention the games against Fiji and Tonga. They aren't relevant. (due respect to Fiji and Tonga)

I'm conscious that France played a few games in the last few years where they've looked ace for the first half and imploded in the second
Well... Yeah..
Sublime from the French. Ntamack made RM look like a nobody.

I'm livid nzr extended Foster's contact before this tour, absolutely livid
Massive, massive mistake. NZRU has gone to hell since Tew retired.
