The Black Caps team just flashed on screen, even without Conway that batting line up is pretty damn strong. Young has shown glimpses of belonging at this level and Blundell can make the keeping/six spot his own if he plays well enough. The other four speak for themselves.

Jeez almost need a filter to see through the pollution even through the live feed, they will struggle to breathe soon

We really needed to win the toss if we wanted to be a chance in this match. We are up against it now, as batting last will be nigh on impossible.

Yeah conditions just look awful huh ?
I feel a bit sorry for Indian legends like Sunil Gavaskar ( always a big fan of his commentary )…..surely they must get embarrassed by it.

Is it all the smoke from the funeral pyres? I'll get my coat

Southee gets Pujara caught behind.
Does look like the sort of pitch that will offer less and less to pace as it goes on, Could have done with Wags to be a short pitched bowling machine, but too late now.
Am not opposed to the idea of Santner coming into the second test side for the worst performing spinner (which probably takes their batting into account too, given the likely track of this game).

Astute calls by the selection panel. Hopefully Somerville also justifies his selection ahead of Wags.
They’re all a waste of space so far but it’s early days !
I’m so used to Wags coming on as that aggressive point of difference and right now things are poised for him to do that….. but he can’t

Lol. We could have done with Wags playing for his Papamoa club tonite too.
-
Williamson has probably overbowled Patel so far, at least relative to Somerville and their economy rates.

Sounds like it might have been a good result for the Mount then?

That's a horrid DRS review...
Was odd as there were two definite risks if not three.
Edge, outside off, hitting.
Too much to go right there.
