@stargazer i think you have to make horses for courses selections ,for me Blackadder is better suited against teams like the Boks..Akira may have been a better option against the irish
My biggest disappointment is the lack of development of the props ..Nepo Laulala whilst being adequate at scrumtime time just does ‘nt do it for me around the paddock ..big Karl T i put in the same bracket
Ofa Tu’angafasi has been a massive let down ,has fallen by the wayside ..Time to invest in the new breed of props. De Groot for a start. Not start them necessarily. But bring them off the bench and give them experience. Samisoni needs to be on the bench from now to bring power in the tight, with Coles starting. I think Flynn needs a break. I'd also think Vai'i should partner with Whitelock next test, with Retallick coming off the bench.

Ireland's 7th win in a row who have obviously got a good thing growing. Everyone in their squad seems to know their role and gives everything for the Jersey. You have that and you are always going to be very tough to beat.
Sadly I think we might see more of the same against France next week.
-
Lots of good comments on how our props aren't up to standard, the cupboard is bare at No.9, apart from RM & BB there's little depth at 10 and there's a lack of experience at 12/13.
It there anyone at the NZRFU looking forward?

We'll probably hammer them and give the crack paper-overs a spot of overtime.

With Jordie’s huge boot we should have prioritised playing in their half rather than clever up and unders in our half.
The real elephant in the room was why didn't the players recognise that and change tactics?
ALB took the backline brain when he went off.
Yep. Experience and calm heads in mid-field looks really thin
I reckon the ALB / Goodhue midfield would’ve been the first choice one going into the year. Two players that could complement each other and offer something different.
Well, we've had 6 years to come up with a plan which allows for injured players...
-
@victor-meldrew I imagine the NZRU is Homer and currently there’s a monkey crashing cymbals in his head…
-
Peter Ionatana Jack Umaga-Jensen played well for the ABs off the bench, is still only 23 (24 next month), maybe he is injured, maybe the Canes coaches don't rate him but he is a centre.
-
@victor-meldrew ,would like to see Lester Faaianuku looked as genuine midfield carrier..
-
For those criticizing Foster and his team, please reflect.
He did after all save a place at 13 for Ennor. Obvious selection genius. -

Should have been looked at IMO.

@raznomore
I guarantee they spent the last few years thinking more deeply about Silverlake than success on the field.Kinda what I was referring to when suggesting serious questions need to be asked. There seems to have been fuck-all thought or management on the player pool.

Don't think he had much choice there oh you could have DH ALB but Reiko had some terrible hospital passes and DH didn't really set the world on fire.
As I said I wanted RI to do well at 13 as he has serious pace.
But he needs better coaching or just to be viewed at wing. -

@victor-meldrew We need someone like Robertson. He knows how to get the best out of players.
My concern is that Robertson won't make that much difference and we've effectively shared the headless-chicken stuff from the field to the coaches office.
Something has gone badly wrong in the last 4 years. The only good thing to come from this game is it might make people sit up and ask some hard questions - players, coaches and NZRFU management
I suspect it runs a bit deeper than just the coach (but in saying that I’m not saying fozzie is the best man for the job .)
Blowing teams off the park with razzle dazzle isn’t as easy as it was and I think it’s largely due to the improvement in the opposition dealing with what we tend to do well .
The nh sides now look far more than well rounded than they used to, and we can look a bit like one trick poneys in our approach to the game
