England beats NZ 31-14 in the women's Cup Final. Disappointing, but the NZ team are missing so many experienced players (Kayla McAlister, Huriana Manuel, Kelly Brazier, Honey Hireme, Tayla Nathan-Wong, Gayle Broughton), so hopefully they'll all be fit for the last round in Clermont & especially the Olympics.
 
Portia Woodman is the player of the tournament.

Yeah - the bits and pieces of sevens I've watched over the last couple of years, I'd agree with that.
 
I hope Dickson is available, as well - he's very useful.
 
But, then I'll invalidate my opinions with you by outing myself as Gillies Kaka's critic! Though admittedly he was better this week than wherever I last watched him - possibly the week before. :)

Yeah Dickson is Curry lite! Also very important to the side. Both workhorses with the knack for getting into the right spot on defence and attack and making every touch a positive one.

Stanaway has a brain implosion and gifts Samoa the winning try. 
I really can't see a place for Messam if he continues this form, he's well off the pace. Williams I think is worth sticking with but isn't showing anything special, he really needs to get it out of his head that his only weapon is trying to run across and get an inside shoulder for an offload, it's too predictable. He's very good at the breakdown and tackle though. 
Not sure who said Kaka does loads of stupid stuff but that's far from what I've seen. He's a very steady player, not a super flashy playmaker but does a great job I reckon, Amasio lite.

Don't forget Titch's obsession with Collier, who just makes fuck ups at bad times and makes good things look so difficult. He ran 20 metres for a runaway try at one point, almost got caught and made it look like 100m in snow, then I hear he's a winger! 
To be fair, whoever was disguised as him yesterday was having an outstanding game until he got injured.

 "Of course, we're very disappointed as we've enjoyed having him back. There's little doubt Ardie could've been a key player for us in Rio, but we respect his decision. 
"What's really important looking ahead, is that we still have a strong squad of players motivated to perform in Rio. 
 
"That's creating great competition for places so we're very excited about the next two tournaments as we shape the best team for the Olympics."

IMO Savea's decision is a bigger gain for the Canes than a loss for the Sevens squad.
 
It would be much worse if the Ioane brothers made this choice.

be very disappointed and surprised if he has been 'pulled' given the NZRU have been copping a bit of shit about not putting enough emphasis on the 7's....
 
But his time in the 7s he wasnt as good as I expected, although more time he'd probably be much better.
