NZ v Australia Test #1
-

Agghhhhhh!! :knuppel:

-
It's so much worse then the Marsh fiasco because in this instance the correct decision has not been made, and in a tight test where runs are at a premium it has cost us dearly.
-

cant you review that?

Surely it would only be revenge if Marsh was clearly not out, but given out...?
-

Pretty much a load of arse from start to finish from where I'm sitting following on cricinfo

Hope springs eternal that the lead Aus get isn't fatal

Well bowled ockers, must have put the ball in the right places

What the fuck is an umpire, in this day and age of checking all wickets, calling marginal no balls for? I haven't seen it but unless a bowler massively oversteps then shut your fucken gob and let the 3rd figure it out should a wicket fall - it's the way shit's done these days
-

We can't review a no ball call.

Umpires everywhere around the world go upstairs when a wicket is taken and it is a close call on the no ball. But for some reason today Illingworth inexplicably decided fuck the technology I'm gonna make this call on my own.

Incomptent.

Yeah thats what I was asking if you can review it, but I guess who would call it form the BC;s, the bowler knows they are right on it and only needs to be MM in it

Smith would have lost his shit if we had a repeat of footgate.
-

For the third straight Basin Reserve Test, Brendon McCullum lost the toss. For the third straight time New Zealand were sent in on a pitch that was expected to offer the fast men some assistance. For the third straight time, they were knocked over inside 60 overs. If that scenario seems like it should favour Australia, it is worth noting that in neither of the previous two instances did New Zealand go on to lose the Test; they won one and drew the other.
-

Not the right kind of straws, but you get the idea ;)

Tomorrow morning is pivotal. Could rattle through a soft Aussie middle order with friendly conditions and be back in with a small deficit, or even a lead. Take a leaf from Hazlewood and Siddle - top of off, top of off, top of off, top of off, top of off, top of off, top of off, top of off, top of off
-
Just remove the no ball call from the ump. They can't actually watch a no ball line and adjudicate on events at the other end all that easily, and you end up with a disgraceful call that could change a test match. Let the on field ump make a ruling (but not make no ball judgements) and then check all decisions for no ball afterwards, it only you takes a few seconds and get it f'ing right! The match should last 5 days, the fans will wait!

It was a dickhead call and the days of a batsman having a chance at a free swing when it was called no ball are long gone. That was clean bowled. The ball from a quick is pretty much there before a batsman hears the no ball call. Ridiculous.

Hope it fires the BC up, because that was shit umpiring. -

I played a game once in the sub continent, morning start. Opening bowler, never bowls no balls, first ball of the game gets called for a noey

I was captain so walked over to the ump to try to apply a bit of pressure and ask where he overstepped.

There was a perfect spiked imprint of his whole foot inches behind the line. Ump duly goes through the charade of showing where he "overstepped"

total lie

Conclusion: No one knows what goes through the minds of these fluffybunnys

Had to laugh at the wags caught on the microphones when Latham was being referred and snicko was showing - "that could have come from anywhere" :)
