Oh poop, I was hoping for JGB to reclaim his rightful position as the starting first five, Who is that No. 8?
EDIT: I see he has played 21 games for Petone over three seasons, quite often as a lock but also as a blindside. No starts as a No. 8 as far as I can see.
-
@nepia @stargazer Any sign of our team yet? Probably a bit early to expect anything from the HBRFU yet given their somewhat dismissive attitude toward keeping the public informed of such important things. How can we decide whether it will be a HB 17+ or a 9-16 in KP's tipping contest when we don't know how many starters will be rested for such a relatively minor result doesn't really concern us fixture?

Petone player, he was a loose forward / number 8 in the same Under 20s side as Plumtree, Delany & Tyrone Thompson.
Looks like we have a decent injury toll in the locking department. How tall is Tyrone?
-
@canes4life Probably taller than J Blackwell!
-
@canes4life Are you going to the game? I hope to get there (maybe even at Lyndhurst Park for the Under 19s on Saturday as well) but sadly my HB playing jersey has either been hidden by flatmates (Wgtn supporters obviously) or left up in Napier when I was home for a month or so just before the latest lockup. Still I have got a polo shirt down here but it really just is not the same as a playing jersey.
-
@higgins I can't make it this weekend with family commitments but will be keeping an eye on the score / updates on here. I'm hoping our lads can get the job done, but what I've seen from them this year doesn't fill me with too much confidence.
-
@canes4life At least you don't have to worry about rest and rotation of the starting players, essentially to avoid injury, for the more important games ahead (killing Ta$man in the next Shield Defense!!!) that will undoubtedly effect my guys. You (Wgtn) can simply go the the best of what you have got, no matter how little confidence they inspire within you. Just in case you were unaware the TAB does not show your views as they have Wellington @ $1.46 for the win whilst The Bay languish at $2.55
PS In spite of claiming the underdog status I still cannot bring myself to tip against The Bay in the tipping contests. @Stockcar86 Still need your tips in as we are up against arch nemesis Wairarapa-Bush and need all six of us to play this week. In reality the match will be won by the result of the encounter at Sky Stadium and the Bush Tippers I have been needling all week have indicated that will be going all out on a Wellington win. Either way it should be a big win one way or the other and I will be either the recipient of at least four six packs or have to fork out the same to what will certainly be cocky Bush Tippers!

@higgins There’s no way we’re not huge underdogs. Will we even have a current Canes starting on the weekend?
Only Rakete-Stones and - if recovered from his head knock - Flanders.
I doubt Toala, Visinia and Evans will return to the Canes.

I thought we couldn’t go because of Level 2? As for HB being underdogs are the TAB not aware that Wellington have lost horribly the last couple of years when playing you
