It was interesting that Henry went with the Howlett/Rangi 14/15 for the first test and then the Gear/Mils 14/15 combo for tests 2 and 3.

The terrible weather in the 1st test might have played a part in the selections. Like the halfbacks, they gave some players a test each and then rewarded the best performed in the 3rd test. While the ABs played well in Chch they went up another level in Wellington.

Others were Dowd, Fitzy, Brown, R Brooke, I Jones, M Jones, Z Brooke, Preston, Fox, Stensness and Bunce.
I can't remember if Joseph or Pene started a test.
