@kiwiwomble yes but given the incident happened back in May, did he tell his employer (NZR)

The Highlanders rested him earlier in the year around this incident (unless this is a separate incident).
All Black Shannon Frizell has been omitted from the Highlanders’ Super Rugby Trans Ta$man match against the Reds in Dunedin on Friday night. Although blindside flanker Frizell, who is facing allegations of assaulting a woman at a Dunedin bar last weekend, has not been charged with any wrongdoing by police the Highlanders decided it was best he was stood down from the opening round of the competition.

Highlanders and All Black star Shannon Frizell had been charged over an allegedly violent incident in May.
It is understood the 27-year-old Tongan-born loose forward with 15 international caps to his name will appear in the Dunedin District Court tomorrow on two allegations of assaulting a female and one of common assault.
New Zealand Rugby's general manager professional rugby and performance Chris Lendrum said: "We are aware that charges have been laid against one of our players and we have initiated our own employment process."
He refused to comment further.
In May, police confirmed they were investigating an incident at Octagon bar Vault 21 and said a rugby player "of significance" was allegedly involved.
Highlanders chief executive Roger Clark, at the time, said he was aware of the incident and that there would be an investigation.
Frizell was dropped from the Highlanders squad the week after the alleged violence but Clark said it was not a punishment, simply a measure to avoid "distraction".
He has not yet responded to requests for comment today,
The All Blacks are gearing up to face the Wallabies next month for the annual Bledisloe Cup clash, defending a title they have held since 2003.
The maximum penalty on a charge of male assaults female is two years' imprisonment.
What a fluffybunny if guilty. Also means a lot of wasted tests on him.
Only positive for Fizzell is that it may open doors at the Crusaders for him.
Fuck off you can have him
Woman beater quota full?
Yep we are sick of rehabilitating players who can't behave in other regions,Probably because they don't have good systems in place, he can go somewhere else.
We have enough on our hands with a fuckwit Council who don't understand the cites needs.
-
@taniwharugby Common knowledge. It has been widely reported in the media that the incident was under investigation.

You should stop getting out so much and spend more time on the Fern with the rest of us outcasts. Sure, the post was worth a smile, but the funniest post you have ever seen on this site? You should check out the Meme thread. @MN5 will have you pissing yourself.

May I add to the theme while we are putting the boot in?

have to say im not overly familiar with how diversions work, does it have to be pretty minor, reckless rather than malicious or it could be anything and so you can read anything into it?
-
@kiwiwomble not overly familiar either but my understanding is that it is used in situations at the lower end of the offending scale.
-
The police have to offer diversion.
Diversion is a scheme operated by the police that allows first-time offenders to take responsibility for their offending outside the court system and avoid getting a criminal record. The purpose is to prevent you re-offending and to help you understand your own past behaviour and choices and the impact this had on the victim of your offending.
It is targeted at reparation for the victim and rehabilitation for you. Your rehabilitation conditions might include things like going to an alcohol and drug programme or a violence-prevention course.
-
Ah fuck this fluffybunny. Just like Sevu. I just wish our All Blacks wouldn't assault people. Fucking disgraceful. I'm fine with rehabilitation for people who do these things but people like this shouldn't be public figures and representing our nation.

have to say, when i was at uni in dunners most people that used their diversions did so for things like taking a piss somewhere a little too public or in one case nicking all the pool balls from a pub, maybe pinching a road sign...not so much fighting let alone hitting a woman

Feels like a stretch doesn't it

At the moment the only punishment is some public humiliation and going to whatever anger management course his lawyer enlists him in.
I would like to see him removed from the current AB squad. At least then there would be a financial penalty. It also serves as a warning to others
We have a perfectly good squad replacement in Robinson. He should've made the original squad IMO
After that I don't really care. It sounds like a low level incident - he can come back later if he's good enough (..and based on his efforts at Test level so far, he is not good enough)
