In recent years I've wondered if even Wayne Bennett/Craig Bellamy could sort some of this lot out.

I read this a few days ago about Bellamy's pre season. I reckon he'd "lose the dressing room" pretty quickly at the Warriors if he made them train like that

Both - when was the last time we had a good coach?

It's fine to say "drop all the players". But then you have to replace them. Easier said then done.

how do you know they havent had a good coach but the deep seated issues at the club havent ruined his career and made him look bad?

Artent they doing an independant review at present, hopefully this will highlight the issues.

(At least, isn't that what we read every February...)

Exactly and every year it becomes plainly obvious that we are one of the least fit teams in the comp

If it was actually true that each year's Warriors squad had been fitter than the last... the '95 Warriors must have needed the changing room doors to be removed before they could gently waddle out onto Mount Smart.

I bring up Bluey because he's a comparison, and a bloody similar one at that, and if Cappy gets the boot he wont be hard done by either. Cappy's a failed appointment yet people want him kept on just because other coaches have been fired. That's not a good enough reason for me.

What a mess , I feel sorry for the die hard league people in NZ , they deserve better ,

I will always support the kiwis , but living in Melb , I follow the Storm at club level,

Warriors are my second team and always hope they go well for NZs sake , but man , always seems like there is more pain than pleasure , some clubs are cursed

Remember, there are two cursed clubs right now - Warriors and Parramatta. Norman to face the courts on drugs charges:

Cappy is gone as coach, that much I know. Doyle didn't hire him so therefore Doyle doesn't have to show him any loyalty. This current crisis does give Doyle plenty of time to find and set his coach up for 2017. It might be Ivan Cleary but Doyle has a few months to prepare. Cappy could quit on his own, and that is in play, but he seems to be determined to be captain of the Titanic.

Leuluai, Vatuvei, Hoffman, Robson will all find themselves being pushed out the door if the season continues this way. Doyle will want to free up cap-room (like he has with Hurrell) and kicking out a Hoffman or Vatuvei will definitely shake things up in the locker-room.

Warriors lack leadership across the squad right now. When Cleary was coach, the last time we had a decent coach, he had Steve Price, Ruben Wiki, Michael Luck, and Brent Tate to provide positive leadership in the locker-room. Hoffman, Mannering, Luke and Lillyman don't have that same feel.

There aren't many players on the free agent market right now who fit a Price/Wiki role, although Greg Eastwood would be a close fit. Should even contemplate the return of Elijah Taylor (at the right price).

The lurker reckons its Maguire from Souths. Apparently the players are sick of him cos he works them too hard

Sounds perfect to me, sign him up

I'll put in a plug for Kata doing well this season. He has the right attitude and shows signs he can improve. Hurrell never put the work in even though he had a lot of potential.

Happy to see Hurrell go and it sounds like Manu is next, hope things work out well for both. Maybe Manu just needs a change of scene to get his mojo back, but I think it's 50/50 at best in terms of Konrad making a genuine go of it in the NRL.

Like your thinking Sneak - hopefully Doyle builds on this and goes for a clean sweep.

May not be a Wayne Bennett, Des Hasler or Craig Bellamy, but he did alright with the stock he had. At least he taught them how to defend.
