The NRL Season of 2016
-
Clearly knocked on forward by the Tigers. Hit the guy in the shoulder and went forward.

Hope the bunker explodes. -

Summary of this shambolics of shambles:

First half: Warriors sux.

Second half: Warriors realise they're more talented than the Tigers, but soon-to-be destroyed bunker somewhere in deepest, darkest Sydney decides otherwise.

Overall: Warriors need this loss otherwise the players and coaches would have thought everything was a-ok. Unacceptable and Cappy needs to realise some players need time in the NSW Cup. No energy for 40 minutes is worrying. Issac Luke might be on a retirement cheque. Ben Henry has unofficially retired.

Players:

Good: Bodene Thompson, Simon Mannering, James Gavet

So-so: Jeff Robson, Blake Ashyford, Shaun Johnson, Tui Lolohea

Warriors of old: Manu Vatuvei, Solomona Kata, Issac Luke, Jacob Lillyman, Nathaniel Roache
-

Cappy needs some time in NSW Cup, or better yet in the Queensland Cup, with some other team ....

Well I guess that was my first and last Warriors game for the year (they're not in Sydney again until Round 16 apparently).

God that first half was awful, and 9 minutes aside the 2nd half was pretty crap too.

The Warriors appear to have brought Luke down to their standard while RTS is only just keeping himself above Warriors standard. Tui seemed to have lost his ability to catch and pass properly now that he passes his time on the wing. Robson is another in a long line of average Aussie halves that the Warriors bring in hoping they'll become match winners - only one ever did and that was Maloney.

Poor Ben Henry, tough on the guy, and never got the chance to prove that Sneak's adoration was justified.

Had an interesting day out west, after all the dire warnings of the heat out there I thought I'd by half time ... but it was actually fine, although we were sitting in the sun so the old nose got a bit red. Pretty decent ground, noisey crowd, bucketloads of Warriors fans there too. Food and drink reasonable (well non alcoholic drink), the fish at the ground might actually be the nicest piece of battered fish in Oz. We decided to have some ribs for dinner after the match so rocked up to the local Hooters, yes, that Hooters. It was pretty average, slow service, bad dancing by the waitresses (which contributed to the bad service, they all stopped to dance slowing up out food and drinks), and TBH the waitresses weren't that hot.
-

RTS not play? -

I only watched bits of pieces flicking between the Highlanders Canes game ,

they are a frustrating club , the formula to get it right seems so close , yet it seems so far .
-
Fuck there have been some ridiculous tries scored this weekend.

Titans winger just scored a try from the worst shank of a kick I've seen in a long long time. No doubt his mate will claim he kicked it like that on purpose.

The wooden spoon favourites killing the Knights 28-6, 25 to go. -

The Tits romp home 30-12. Knights are wooden spoon favs as well since most of the team appears to be under the age of 21. Congrats to former u20 Warriors captain David Bhana making his debut with Newcastle. Made 25 tackles in 31 minutes. Not bad.

Roosters got the worst hiding of the weekend - smashed 42-10 by Wusty's Wabbits. Means they are currently last :mocking:
-
He wore a Warriors jersey and was on the green grass for 80 minutes.....does that count as "playing".....

I wonder if (hope) we will see Lolohea and SJ in the halves at some point. -
For a laugh look up Josh Gage on Facebook for his Warriors fan reactions after yesterday's loss.
You mean how long till the players throw a game resulting in his sacking ?
Just like they did with Matt Elliott. -

how will we tell if they are throwing the game or trying? it all looks the same pretty much.

Crazy round. And quite the casualty ward for round 1 as well. Paul Gallen is sweating pretty hard, if the scans aren't good news, it might be the end.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The Warriors are uncoachable. I don't know why anyone takes the job, it's a graveyard.
-

Daniel Anderson found a way to coach them, until he fell out with the teams best player and on field organiser. I wasn't a huge fan of Ivan but he could get them focused when needed.

Other than that ....

The most annoying thing for about the Warriors is that they never seemed to have an bodies in motion in attack. It was always just the guy taking the hit up and maybe the guy next to him. You'll never create chances outside of individual brilliance if you don't keep the opposition guessing and you'll reduce the chances of individual brilliance.
-

Was Daniel Anderson the one that took the mirrors out of the changing rooms?

-

Looks like Gallen will only miss 6-8

Sutton will miss 4 months with a ruptured pec. Reynolds with a fractured jaw will be out for a couple as well.

Jordan Kahu will miss a month with a calf. James Segeyaro from the Panthers will miss 6-10 with a broken arm. And there are a few waiting on follow-up scans.

Brutal weekend.
-

All that and no injury to keep Kata out of the team - the league gods really do hate us.
-

Reynolds gone for 6. Canberra lose both their starting halves for 5

-

ah, the old "too many pollies" chestnut. Lowe is a fuckwit of the highest order.

Something is seriously wrong in that organisation though, the players change, but the outcomes are all remarkably similar, so what is the underlying, ever present factor?

Why do players go there and get worse? Why do they often look like they aren't trying? Why are their fundamental skills often lacking? Why is their execution (and often, plan) so ordinary? And that's no matter who's name is on the door of the coaches office.
-
Sack the coaches, sack the players, sack the sausage sizzle guy..... and you know what, we still have the same Warriors capable of unbelievable footy, but then can easily implode and play stuff U15s would beat down.

It's hard to put your finger exactly what the 'problem' is. But it does have an all too familiar start to the season. The game on Saturday alone is a microcosm of Warrior rugby for the past 5 years.
