Crusaders don’t lose players they want to keep. There’s some bloody good kids coming thru. Dom Gardiner, George Methven ,Fletcher Anderson , joe brial, Corey Kellow, Torian Barnes to name a few
Torian Barnes is a beast of a no.8 for his age.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Taine Plumtree has progressed. He hasn't set the NPC alight but I think he's got potential. Great pedigree and v.good fundamentals, size etc. Might be limited in terms of playing time if all the Blues loosies are fit.

Hope that's true. Because the glass half empty part of me is wondering if cracks are starting to appear.

@themojoman I beg to differ has really shone in an average Wellington team unfortunately he seemed to get injured after that Waikato game and our go forward really struggled.

I stand corrected

I am wondering if a bit of horse trading is going on between the Blues & the Crusaders and Taine Plumtree and Anton Segner have been swapped out .Getting some chatter about Gideon Wrampling heading to the Blues ,anybody heard anything..?
Would be a superb pick up Wrampling & Ioane would be mouth watering -
@themojoman has Taine announced where he’s playing next year yet? Good chance the Canes have signed him back if the Blues didn’t extend his contract.

That would annoy me as there should be a place for him at the Chiefs with one, if not two, midfield spots to be filled.

@bovidae thats where the horse trading comes into play ,Emori Narawa heading to the Chiefs ..
Wrampling to the Blues..?
Hurry up and name these teams already ..!We are still a month away from the teams being released if the rumours are true, first week in December.Although most squads are sorted by the looks of things.
-
@steven-harris If that eventuates I would be asking serious questions of McMillan and Collins. The Chiefs weren't able to sign JR-K when he plays for Taranaki, and this would be history repeating itself.
-
@canes4life I thought all the talk in here was that he was heading back up there next year

Same, that’s why I haven’t had him in the running for a Canes spot. It would be a nice surprise if he was back at the Canes. A solid lock/6 option. If we can get him and Howden I will be very happy.

That would make me furious too!

Tamati Tua has been signed by the Blues , bit of a surprise for mine ,has had a lot of injury issues in the last 2 -3 seasons meaning he has only played 38 x games for the Taniwha ,since his debut as an 18 year old in 2016 .
Tua was on the Blues Radar this time last year ,but had major shoulder surgery last December which kept him out of the first 9 months of 2021
Will be 24 in November, so for me this could be make or break, pardon the pun.
Might actually put the Wrampling rumour to bed , although I would say the Blues still do look a little thin at 2nd five unless they see RTS or Plummer as options . -
I think Plummer will get the first start there
Tua sometimes looks like he's about to have a breakthrough and then gets injured/not selected. It seems the Blues coaches rate him differently than the Northland coaches. The Taniwha seem to use him more as a wing who can cover the midfield.
-
@duluth yeah this is the same coaches who keep selecting Hohaia...doing a great job at stifling Reihana and Gregory too!
Anywhoo, Tua is a great prospect, tall, quick, strong and a good skillset...but also agree just when it seems he is about to make that next step, he gets injured, and being shuffled about with Northland doesnt help.
