Haha Christie that was classic
he got to rucks quickly and cleared quickly. Looked good, and made people around him look good. More please
No he looked pretty sharp I was referring to the quick tap where he bounced off the Fijian guy

All of you worriers and panic merchants, we are clearly keeping our powder dry

@african-monkey just seems like that number 6 jersey has been vacated ever since Kaino retired …It just goes to show despite Frizell looking the part at super level , that step really is another level
-
@act-crusader No one's going to see us coming for the 2107 world cup!

That much was obvious last year.

Is it too late to get Vaea Fifita back ?

Really enjoyed this contest ,seeing another repeat of last week would have done nothing for anyone..
Fiji really bought it physically showing the benefits of many of their forwards especially playing in France and Europe in general but I suspect being stuck in isolation and lack preparation finally told especially in and around breakdown accuracy and discipline..All Blacks looked better when both Whitelock and Coles were on the field ..but in terms of consistency I thought Ethan Blackadder playing in the unfamiliar jersey was very solid ..biggest disappointments to me where Sotutu,Tuipulotu and Frizzell..Agree on those three. Also thought Taylor lacked accuracy and the starting two props looked lost out there too.
This! Absolutely this. We have to start developing props that can be successful at set piece and contribute around the field.

I haven’t read the thread yet but when I do I hope to see plenty of comments wondering why our loose forwards didn’t act as a unit.
Sotutu was busy but at the wrong places. Frizzle was a fizzle and Blackadder good but disjointed from the other two.
We were missing Jacobsen doing the straight forward ruck work.
Last weeks trio so much better. -

On the Botia/McKenzie thing - looks bad. One AR with what looks like line-of-sight within 10 metres of the incident didn't even flinch.
And the commentators celebrated the guy trying to take off his head.
If it turns out to be chest on shoulder it will be a good hit. Didn't see a reverse angle and the TMO didn't twitch either. OB director either.
-
We got 10 running meters out of our starting front row (zero from Bower). To put that in perspective, Fiji got more three times more out of one prop (Ravai, 30) and in total got 52 from their starting front row.
We didn’t start to get anything useful until Coles (26) came on and he and DeGroot (9) managed 35 from the bench (Lomax, 0).
We need better props and a third/fourth hooker. Taylor is tired, and behind Ofa and Moody the stocks are not that good at LH and TH.

Lots of Frizzel comments and I agree but Pat T as well. Too many chances, been part of some poor AB losses. The guy has serious mana but we need to move on and get Vaai (sp?) or even Robinson in there. Someone who is all elbows and shoulders.

@gt12 I'm telling you our props lack mobility. Hodgman is great around the paddock and has a high work rate, showed with the Blues needs more scrum work. Johnson is also a hell of a lot better than Bower in my opinion. Lomax is labored and De Groot got owned against the Blues pack. Our tight 5 needs work.

Glad Coles is on. Seems craftier than Taylor.
I reckon he will create a try scoring record

It’s pretty much all been said. That was a pretty shit effort by the ABs. Getting outmuscled by the fiji forwards is an embarrassment.
Frizz and Pat T aren’t up to it and never will be. They have had so many chances.
Sotutu hasn’t done anything this year to suggest he should be there either. Poor mans Ardie.
Blackadder was up and down but was at least giving it everything. Not sure starting him at 7 is the best idea though. Really just covers 7.
Backs were fairly quiet. Though Havili did some good things despite a couple of mistakes. His involvement in Bridge’s try was quality. Really hope they try him and ALB together when ALB is back.
Ioane needs to be our 11. He still has the gas and can roam into midfield when required. Such a waste.Good little cameo from Coles. Is that the most tries by an AB substitute ever?

It was concerning that Laulala found himself out of position in the line on a few occasions. Not sure how many rucks he hit but he didn’t seem to be prominent on that front. An off night for sure.

I'm a big Pat T fan and he deserves huge credit for his leadership at the Blues, but it really hasn't translated at Test level. He's had a couple of great games in Black where he's stepped up the plate, but he's too inconsistent and makes too many errors.
Doesn't need to be flash, just solid and he seems to lack a bit of the latter
