@Bovidae since Hastie and Hotham are seen as future squad members , I would hope another kiwi team has a look at James Arscott, still only 21 and has a real good pass on him
Agreed, heโs had smith as his mentor for years too, you can see it in his pass technique

@Kiwiwomble Don't know for how long Mark Ozich is signed at the Force, but he could be an excellent fit. Has proven himself at NPC level and has coached the Highlanders U20s in 2021, so knows the emerging talent. Apart from the Magpies head coach, he's also a former Southland Assistant Coach.

@Stargazer will be really interesting, really need a bit of a sea change i think
-
this just popped up in my feed...shit that was a loose game, one of fletcher smiths first i think and opened them up from our own 5m...awesome...got i would love to have that attacking power and in hindsight that many players that seemed to largely avoid injuries

@kiwi_expat #booboo

With Browny leaving they'll be needing another backs coach, so we will probably see Dermody appointed (based on his success in 2021) as head coach & them bringing back (former U20 coach) Ozich to be their attack coach. Can't really see anything else happening.

that one....that one was deliberate

Does CGB play 10? Something in my memory suggests he does but maybe I am imagining that. If he does have some history at 10 I wouldn't mind seeing him get a run there given NZ's lack of quality depth in that position.
-
@Crazy-Horse hasn't done so at pro level, maybe at scots college he dabbled at first five idk

Stop stalling and just give us Havili

Stuff suggests a few names for the next Highlanders coach:
-
@Duluth So, regarding Ozich, Cully mentions him coaching Southland Boys and has totally missed Ozich coaching Hastings Boys to a Top 4 title?
Brad Mooar? I doubt his Crusaders connection would bother Highlanders fans if they were confident he could get the results they're longing for (like MacDonald did with the Blues, also with a Crusaders connection), but can they be that confident?
Are Otago fans actually happy with Donnelly's results over the past few years?
Chris Boyd sounds like a good option, but I'd rather have him back at the Canes.
-
@Stargazer in fairness, that sentence was mainly his connection to the south, southland boys<southland<highlanders, not a full resume
I'm happy enough with donnelly, he doesn't have an abundance of superstars and some of his big guns have had real injury issues
