Brumbies v Highlanders

@kiwiwomble great win though wasn't it mate? Just catching the replay. Dermody has done a bang up job. All without our best forward of the season.
2021 a real success. A final or final win would be the icing but the cake is also very tasty without it

@kiwiwomble dunno, expressing my disdain for all the booing I guess
In fairness: you started it

Thought the physicality from the Brumbies was good but FFS hang onto the ball! So much bullshit touch-rugby passing and that grubber kick at the end when they were hot on attack was a fucking joke.
Oh, and that Renton guy should have been penalised and warned for trying to grab ankles in the Brumbies maul. That's right in front of the officials and utter fucking bullshit besides.

Some thoughts. Billy Harmon is just a huge force at the moment. I am surprised by the lack of recognition he is getting. They must be looking at him for the ABs surely! For the size of Pari Pari, it seems he goes into contact pretty gently although to be fair, it might look like that because he is so big (slow motion effect).
And it doesn't need to be said but Aaron Smith....just how good is this guy? -
And although the talent is spread and that weakens their teams, once the Wallabies get all the parts together, they are going to have a very handy team. That Brumbies 6 is a bloody physical player!

@old-samurai-jack doubt

@old-samurai-jack I always thought Harmon was the best 7 at the Crusaders, but he'd always get injured at the wrong time while there. He's a far more rounded 7 than Christie.

It was a great move for Billy to go South. More game time and a chance to really shine. Both SRA and SRTT heβs been superb.
-
@act-crusader he seems to have cut down on dopey penalties too

Nah. They find reasons not to select 7s at the moment. It wouldn't surprise me if they only picked Dalton as a stopgap while Cane is out.
-
@crucial is this another whinge about Boshier not getting selected for the ABs? Taukieaho would be a better drum to beat, but even there it's clear why others are selected ahead of him.
Weber is the token average chiefs selection. Live with it.

They picked Kirifi. That tells you everything.

What the fuck is wrong with you?Ummm....I'm an internet tough guy that nobody has heard of and I go around asking people dumb and insulting questions to make myself look righteous?

I don't actually see a place for Bosh in an ABs squad at the moment but then again I also don't see a spot for Kirifi.
What annoys me is when some players get given lists of work ons when they already top the stats and are hugely effective against their contemporaries from other countries yet others get selected on promise.
If I had to make a comparison I would do so with Matt Todd. Emergency starter but bloody handy to keep around for when injuries strike. -
@antipodean 2020 Kirifi was quite a lot better than the 2021 version. The early 2020 version of L Boshier was better, but the post-covid L Bosh? Not so sure.

That's the problem.
In 2021 both are a long way off Dalton and Billy.

Given the quality of 6s and 8s around, I'd say that Boshier is miles away, with Paps and Ardie and Cane, plus they like Kirifi (he's playing like shit, but they like him), and that's not even talking about Christie, Harmon, or even the use of Blackadder as a 7.
