and Arsenal will be battling to take 8th or 9th.
I really hope you're right!!
I didn't say they will get there - just that they will be battling to do it. Arteta has the haunted look of a manager about to be sacked.
Well nothing like last after 3 or 4 rounds to give you the heebie jeebies. Not that there is anyone I am screaming for at the moment

Arsenal's squad has been pretty dire. They just seem to buy whoever they can without thinking about fit or need. That said, there's plenty of excuses for Arteta so far so I'm still hoping that they can bounce back. I think they really need to try and get leadership all on the same page and unless everyone above Arteta also goes a manager change won't fix that.

As I mentioned earlier there are a lot of Arsenal players that need to be moved on, who unfortunately are on big contracts, as they arrived on a free transfer (e.g. Willian, Kolašinac). Therefore no one wants them in the current covid financial world. Sending those players somewhere on loan (e.g. Torreira, Guendouzi at the moment) doesn't help the situation either unless there is an obligation to buy clause. Others like Bellerin want to leave and Arteta/Edu are happy to sell him but at the right price.
Arteta having his best players available to play would also help to be more competitive. More pain to come I'm afraid.

Ronaldo scored two late goals to pip the Irish and with those becomes the world record holder for international goals.
110 CRISTIANO RONALDO
109 Ali Daei
89 Mokhtar Dahari
84 Ferenc Puskas
79 Godfrey Chitalu
78 Hussein Saeed
77 Pele
76 Lionel Messi -
Big day today! But it's not televised!
Bit annoying but I fully support the 3pm Blackout. Thin it's a great initiative to get people out to game - either playing or watching.
Who knew Man Yoo vs the Geordies would arguably be the most anticipated game of the year!!

Here in NZ, all games can be watched live - at 2am.

Sorry Fulham I may have to reconsider my support.
I have just learned White Hart Lane has its own on site craft brewery. Talk about value add. Can produce 1 million pints per annum and sell 20,000 on a match day
Now that’s what I call a stadium.
Mind you it’s a long way from Auckland
C’mon FULHAM
(Plus they pour Fullers)

Yeah, in Hong Kong it was the same & a mate of mine in New York is forever going on about it.
I watched my son play football at 3:30pm on Saturday instead. He's not quite the same level as Ronaldo (hell, he's not quite the same level as most of his team mates), but thats the system working exactly as it should IMHO.

I agree, but lockdown with all the games being shown and there rarely being 2 on at the same time spoilt the armchair viewer a little. But it has restored Match of the Day to its rightful place showing a ruck of games on a Saturday night.
Nothing in the EPL so far has disturbed the expectation that the big 4 will pull well clear of the rest, the likes of Spurs, Leicester and maybe a couple of others will be distant for fighting for 5th and that the promoted clubs will all nestle near the foot of the table with quite a few others.

@dogmeat Unlikely but not impossible! I can see Brentford being in the relegation battle as the season progresses - no idea if QPR are good but they do have a guy called Chair. Wikipedia has him as 1.58m tall and weighing 53kg - surely some mistake!

I think he was hoping it would be Fulham...

@canefan Saturday's result notwithstanding I would bet the house on Fulham and West Brom yo-yoing back up. Standrad in the Championship seems to have fallen away and in a Covid environment parachute payments are even more 'helpful' than usual.
QPR have every chance of making the play-offs then who knows.
Brentford will be up against it. Promoted clubs always are - since FFP anyway, but they will be battling it out with half a dozen other clubs so they can hope. Squad depth might be an issue but they seem well run and have a good ethos so I hope they stay up.
