Absolute scenes in the Brazil-Argentina game. The Brazilian police have run onto the pitch to try to arrest the four EPL-based Argentine for breaking Covid procedures.

@hooroo Somebody is going to need a long international career and to take all the penalties to break that record. Lukaku just got his 67th and age 28, Lewandowski just got his 72nd but is already 33.

Big day today! But it's not televised!

Bit annoying but I fully support the 3pm Blackout. Thin it's a great initiative to get people out to game - either playing or watching.

Who knew Man Yoo vs the Geordies would arguably be the most anticipated game of the year!!

Here in NZ, all games can be watched live - at 2am.

Sorry Fulham I may have to reconsider my support.

I have just learned White Hart Lane has its own on site craft brewery. Talk about value add. Can produce 1 million pints per annum and sell 20,000 on a match day

    Now that’s what I call a stadium.

Mind you it’s a long way from Auckland

    C’mon FULHAM

    (Plus they pour Fullers)

Yeah, in Hong Kong it was the same & a mate of mine in New York is forever going on about it.

I watched my son play football at 3:30pm on Saturday instead. He's not quite the same level as Ronaldo (hell, he's not quite the same level as most of his team mates), but thats the system working exactly as it should IMHO.

I agree, but lockdown with all the games being shown and there rarely being 2 on at the same time spoilt the armchair viewer a little. But it has restored Match of the Day to its rightful place showing a ruck of games on a Saturday night.

Nothing in the EPL so far has disturbed the expectation that the big 4 will pull well clear of the rest, the likes of Spurs, Leicester and maybe a couple of others will be distant for fighting for 5th and that the promoted clubs will all nestle near the foot of the table with quite a few others.

@kiwipie what price 4 west london clubs in the EPL next season? All within a 2 mile radius of ravenscourt park tube.

@dogmeat Unlikely but not impossible! I can see Brentford being in the relegation battle as the season progresses - no idea if QPR are good but they do have a guy called Chair. Wikipedia has him as 1.58m tall and weighing 53kg - surely some mistake!

I think he was hoping it would be Fulham...

@canefan Saturday's result notwithstanding I would bet the house on Fulham and West Brom yo-yoing back up. Standrad in the Championship seems to have fallen away and in a Covid environment parachute payments are even more 'helpful' than usual.

QPR have every chance of making the play-offs then who knows.

Brentford will be up against it. Promoted clubs always are - since FFP anyway, but they will be battling it out with half a dozen other clubs so they can hope. Squad depth might be an issue but they seem well run and have a good ethos so I hope they stay up.

Swiss team Young Boys home ground is the wankdorf stadium.

This is a fact, not a joke.

Another UCL disaster for Man United the main story of week 1. A thrashing for Barca isn't really news these days when the opposition is Bayern.

United and Ole looks like a union heading for inevitable divorce but it is delayed by extravagant gifts to paper over the cracks. But the more expensive things Ole has to cope with, the less he looks like knowing what the hell he is doing.

I thought the same with Bournemouth previous year, 2 games a week and injuries over a long season makes the championship more of a marathon. Need to have players fit near the end.

Hard to make the big predictions this far out, but both teams look likely to be there abouts. Key is to finish obviously in the top 2 and avoid the playoff shootout which anything can happen. Personally I hope my cherries stay close, we have a good young squad, but I am well aware if we have a few injuries we are farked. Still good start for us at least.
