@crucial mistakes destroy continuity. Cutting out mistakes, making good decisions is a major part of winning big games Sometimes we expect too much of playmakers when team is just not executing.
Of course it is much more difficult for halves to shine when their tem is under pressure but I expect an AB 10 to be more composed and take it on themselves to at least try and get some control.
Did RM realize that they needed to put the ball behind the Clan on the slippery ground? Nope just kept shovelling -
@crucial more a general comment as haven’t seen the game yet just saw online commentary with every play seeming to end in a Crusaders turnover or error. On RM, he has turned a lot of games with winning plays or taking a risk - remember test match in SA when it was his long touch finder that put the ABs close enough to win. I think the characterisation about him being weak when a team is going back applies to just about everyone. I am sure he will learn from tonight’s loss and it will make him a better player.

Mo'unga would be one of the last Crusaders I would criticise tonight. They were beaten up at the breakdown and that was the game. I think Barrett is probably better than Mo'unga when the team is getting dominated. I don't think many first-fives around the world actually do well when the team is getting dominated up front.

Not much mention of Harmon and Himeno. Harmon especially was outstanding, showing how good he is when given an opportunity.

I actually think Mounga suffered frm lack of second playmaker. Havili went to 1st receiver to start with but then seemed to stop. He needed someone to alleviate a bit of the pressue.

Well done Highlanders passion and intensity leading the way. Tony Brown very smart game plan taking a lot of scrums out of the game and really attacking the breakdown.
Crusaders looked like they just had a week off.Jordan was poor tonight and Bridge. The backs really let us down we should have gone up the middle more and turned the Landers around by kicking into space. Our Backs were not smart at all today.I felt sorry for Blackadder,Grace,Whitelock,Barrett and Taylor who played their hearts out to be let down by bad decision making behind them.
I think well will come back next week with a brutal response.

Ridiculous call. Jordan should be in the bin.
No. Gregory created that collision. Fair call IMO.
Interesting that the Gregory misdemeanour wrested away all of Will Jordan's decision making faculties so he had no choice ( no free will!) but to, after being blatantly obstructed, tackle a man in the air.
Red card for Gregory for mind control

What @Siam said. How Gregory took over Jordan's faculties and made him decide to tackle CGB in the air after having been obstructed and then clearing the obstruction is unknown, but I can't decide if we need to stamp it outta the game or bring Gregory into the ABs.

Highlanders dominated the breakdown. Most of the Highlanders pack out played their opposites

Gotta say when the Saders managed to get a penalty for taking someone out in the air I figured it was business as usual. Awesome from the Landers and good to see the likes of Mo'unga and Jordan actually have to play under some pressure for a change. Hope they learn from that, though with Mo'unga he's been a possum in the headlights quite a few times now when things aren't going to plan, so not particular encouraging given his experience now that he didn't take the bull by the horns and get his team back on track.
We really don't have a world class 10 at the moment.
