It's been 7 years since the Blues won this encounter. No pressure then. 🙂

I'm not usually a Ruru fan, but he did have a good game last week. Don't mind too much that he's starting (hope I don't come back to regret saying this). It's funny in a way that we have developed a bit of depth at halfback, more or less because they've hung around so long and have slowly improved over time after struggling at this level early on.

Also happy enough that Heem is starting. His experience out there could be important given the Crusaders found a massive weakness there last year, and good to see TJ Faiane back. Some good competition with him and Plummer there now.

Not sure who will win (probably the Crusaders as usual), but GO THE BLUES!

Did you watch last week's game? Nock passed better, but Ruru put in a good shift in the rucks and defensively

This is the sort of insightful stuff I come here for. 🙄

Goodhue had been nothing special this season, Ioane a shit ton better, even with his lapses back into being a selfish winger. You've obviously been under a rock last year or so.

Goodhue at 13? Thank you! Oh, I recall I support the other side-scratch that.
Good Crusaders team. The worst thing about being a Blues fan this year is it is increasingly hard to blame the coach (despite the heavy weight of tradition).

I'm intrigued to see how anyone defends a wet sack.

"Heyyyyy! You don't be mean to that sack!"

I hope the Blues win but this is a very good side. Hard to identify any weaknesses. The Blues loosies are better if they play to their potential, other than that though...

who said it needed to be insightful...

Goodhue may not have been at his best this season but he is still a better all-around player.

I haven't noticed too many problems with his defence so far this year. I keen on Goodhue, but wonder if he a little short of pace to be a real top 13. I not an Ioane fanboy, but think he starting to look ok at 13, well the best in Super Aotearoa anyway at this stage. Not saying he will be by end, but I just commenting on form now which is what counts in this game.

@dan54 Thinking the same thing. there is only an upside to Riko getting better and better at 13 but also get the feeling at test level against the big boys, in a game of inches when one mistake costs the game, Goodhue is the proven performer. On the other hand, Goodhue won't rip the game apart with individual brilliance like Riko...mmm....

I come from the era when the mark of a top 13 was how many tries the wings scored. JG has that skill.

Especially if he's passing to JK instead of JB.

Understand that, and I not really suggesting Goodhue should go or Reiko start for ABs, I think it balance of team, I shudder to think we would pick a team that won't lose a match, I a fan of picking a team to win. And Goodhue is quite capable of being in that. but I do think you need pace, and maybe it depends who is on wings and inside centre.

Funny how these are the discussions a week after he put two people away for tries. One of them when he didn't throw a stupid early pass that would have been picked off in traffic which would have set the moaners off. (Hope he doesn't morph into hungus Masaga 2 this week to make a liar out of me 😉 ).

I'm also a JG fan at centre, not bloody 12 like last years experiment.
