I was watching a couple of the ESPN talk shows and his apology did much to defuse any furore. But make no mistake, all of them seemed to take it all pretty seriously :unknown: Funny from a society that sees mass shootings, hate crimes vs gays and blacks as things that still happen

PC fuckheads will always trawl the net to find something to be offended by on behalf of said person that the "offending" was directed at.

I'm sure lots of White Americans are appalled that someone who looks like one of the Khals from Game of Thrones ( Polynesia you say ? I thought that place was imaginary like Narnia ) called them Monkeys.

Saw the interview live and it was pretty obvious he was reaching for a word to finish the sentence - almost got the feeling he was going to swear something like "buggers" but "monkeys" was the first word that came to mind. I cringed a tiny bit at the time, but it seems like it will sensibly wash over.

I thought he was going to say "fuckers" and came up with something less offensive.

Do an Eli Manning and refuse to play for them. Simmons and the other potential number one pick will both be hoping to fall to number two because the LA Lakers are the LA Lakers even if they suck right now.

Wasn't there a big kerfuffle made around an AFL player being called a monkey or something similar last year?

Brandon Ingram from Duke a real possibility to go number 1. Like Simmons he's is a multi-dimensional player and at 6'9 he has length. A better outside shooter than Ben, but Ben is stronger, better rebounder and passer.
Ingram though seems to have that competitive fire even for an 18yo that the 76ers will be looking for.

    Yeah that was it. Thanks.

I hate all this being offended on behalf of somebody else. If somebody was offended on my behalf I would be offended because they obviously thought I had something that I should have been offended about.

Do you hate the 50000 people booing Adam Goodes every week because they were offended on behalf of the girl who was offended when she got turfed out because Goodes got offended at being called an ape?

In a weird reversal of narrative.. it seems like the longer the Thunder hang around, the more pressure that GSW will feel.

True.. but that is the opposite of regular season, there was a narrative about them crumbling down the stretch in games. It was a bit of a beat up... but had a grain of truth.
