Bangladesh played their best the other night and still didn’t come that close to winning. This tour is an absolute waste of everyone’s time
Good for our new boys’ confidence.
We get to have a look at Finn Allen have a bat in the T20s too, so not all bad.

except the accountants. Generates income, fills TV screens,
Cricket-wise, pretty much meh. I'm watching, but I'm feeling tragic about it

Yeah fair enough, nice couple of tons from two of the rookies which is good to see

I doubt Spark Sport will release their subscription numbers but I did read that the platform is still running at a loss. A series like this isn't going to get new subscribers.

I’ll be cancelling my subscription as soon as the Bangladesh T20 series is done.

Are Bangladesh aware you can’t bat for a draw in ODI cricket ?
play for the red ink and your average

I certainly didn’t fire up a Spark Sport subscription to watch.

Especially with games scheduled during the day on a weekday. If it's at least at night or on the weekend it's an excuse to put your feet up with a few beers and some snacks. I doubt their numbers for today's game make pretty viewing.

According to Facebook loads of people I know have taken the day off to watch though, at least they had the sense to play this one at the Basin and not the Caketin

@MN5 yeah the crowd itself is OK but TV numbers will be poor

A typically beautiful Wellington day sure has helped to be fair.

fair enough.
We've been there, though. Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh to us are how we have been seen by Aus, Eng, SA, India -- warmup to the proper cricket tours. So it's 'meh' but we should be playing them, and giving them teh chance to improve.
Also, they are a damn sight harder to beat over there than here. I have fuzzy memories of Vettori rescuing a test with a mammoth innings about 10 years ago
-
I'd seen zero advertising of the Bangles series - and the timing of the matches has put paid to any chance of watching. But I only mooch Spark Sport off the olds so no skin off my noise.

Yeah I see what you mean, I guess that’s the price we pay for genuinely being one of the big boys now.
Could add the Windies to your shit list although they appear to be unearthing a few decent players to go with Holder.

I've been really surprised how good the crowds have been for all 3 Bangladesh ODIs. People still seem to like ODIs, which surprises me a bit.
Not as boring as Test Cricket can be.....not as shits and giggles as 20/20 can be. I’m not surprised in the slightest. ODI as a format has a great history and it’s not going anywhere.
