<p>The main bits I used to check Foley were the 5m line marker versus 15m line marker (Owens partially obscurces the latter) but also the mowing line you can see running through the ruck (dark grass versus slightly lighter grass). Foley is further from the darker grassed area.</p>

<p>I tried to use the 40m line, but <strong>because of parallax effect</strong> it doesn't actually sit correctly on the right side of the picture. I cut off the extreme right side of the picture when taking the screen shot.</p>

<p>We focused mostly on things like Scott-bloody-Johnson kicking away too much good ball, why Roebuck wasn't used more and the lunatic action / sensational effort by Campesi. What Peter Marshall, John McCarthy or Stuart Dickinson (or Gordon Bray in lower grades) had done out in the middle truly was incidental.</p> -

Indeed, what became clear in hindsight was that we were the better team in all knockout games and controlled all of them to a large degree, -

<p>1) Most tries scored in a RWC final (5)</p>
<p>2) Most tries scored by the losing side in a RWC final (2)</p>
<p>3) Equal highest score by the losing side in a RWC final (17 - both Australia) but most points in regular time by the losing side</p>
<p>4) Equal highest number of tries by the winning side (3 - both NZ)</p>

<p>Just short of highest score and biggest margin.</p> -

<p>yeah same one. Definitely inconclusive...one of those i reckon you can read whatever you want into depending on your bias. Anyway i looked at it a number of times and it was messy but convinced it wasn't a knock on and NO is right there and let it run.</p> -

Do I have to revise my opinion? Please tell me 'no'. -

<p>1) Average overall height of Australia listed as 6'</p>
<p>BUT</p>
<p>2) Average height of Forwards is listed as 5'9" (despite none of them being that short)</p>
<p>3) Average height of backs 5'5"</p>

<p>So unless I'm reading that completely wrong, or there is another rugby position outside "forwards" and "backs" that isn't represented, I'd suggest this data was assembled by someone unfamiliar with mathematics.</p> -
<p>Yeah, how can the average be 5'6'' when not even one player is 5'6'' or below. That's the sort of math that would have even Blackdragon scratching his head....</p>

<p>The bit in bold is the bit I understand to be the issue. The defender just has to run a straight line I think, there doesn't have to be any intention to run towards the ball. As you say, Mitchell was running 45 degrees to the ball, but because he set his line early and didn't deviate, I don't think its obstruction.</p>
