What a big night ,

Went to a wedding in the country , watched the game at 3 am , what a final, enjoyed it so much more than 2011 ,

Back home now , its been an allnighter , havent slept yet and its 4 in the afternoon ,

right now the two in a row , feels like it has wiped away all the pain from previous WCs

Two crucial turnovers within 10 metres of our line, from memory. Fardy one and Pocock the other - lucky too as Pocock looked to be in from the side.

We got the rub of the green off Owens in the first half, but jesus at the start of the 2nd the Wallabies got some very handy calls as well, and that saved them from us applying even more pressure. I'll hear no talk of the ref this week (not that the aussie blokes here are whinging, but I've seen a bit, from Facebook, and some "reputable" news outlets").

Haha Kafe, red card, that's the first time I've ever heard you go off the deep end. If Owens had gone with his first option on penalty only, Kafe would have lost his shit.

And for once it's not me.

Man, it's great to be relaxed watching rugby in WCs. I was starting to dread them during the 99-07 period.

We've completely flipped our reputation at WCs now, teams won't be confident we'll choke or freeze under pressure any more.

I wonder if we'll start seeing teams foxing games in the pool stage to avoid us in the draw now?

Richie's updated wikipedia page is awesome, if perhaps a little over-the-top, I'm not prepared to challenge it.

I remember someone saying to me after we won the 2011 rwc that now the monkeys off our back we'll probably win the next three . I'm not saying that'll happen but we at last seem to have learned from our mistakes .

I thought it could have been a red in real time. Went past horizontal, was only saved by the fact that Mitchell didn't fall on his head.

Would have been a real shame, and I thought Owens made the right call in the end.

jesus this is a quality game of rugby, both teams playing well in the 2nd half.

Great kick by Genia for that try, really smart play.

And of course, it's a lineout steal that brings the game back, followed by DC doing his thing (after a shit kick to the wing that Beale marks)

my take on the Smith yellow was that Owens REALLY didn't want to bin anyone today, but having seen the replay, he had absolutely no choice. Totally correect decision, dunno why we're still discussing it. Kafe just got caught up in a little of the Kearns coolade.

That defense in the last 10 minutes was awesome. Sat back, no penalties, and just hard hits at the gain line. Rinse and repeat.

Full time!! you beauty!!

Been a splendid WC experience. Looking forward to a closing summation from our senior SF members, seems only appropriate.

The refs have a clear edict on these just like the challenges in the air (finally). Land on side = penalty
Shoulder = YC
Head or neck = RC

Agree that Owens really didn't want to go to the cards all game but once it was pointed out with the camera angle that it was a shoulder landing he did what he was expected to.
No issue with it.

Well after a few hours of enjoying the feeling of the result I really believe it will make test rugby easier for me to watch/enjoy for a couple of years. All the comments about ABs not being able to win away, choke etc etc will be buried, there really is no doubt that this is the most dominant team in my lifetime anyway, so if we lose a test or 2 over the next couple of years I know I won't catch too much crap from rugby mates, or if I do I will point out the facts etc that we have before us!! Hell I may even get back to enjoying chatting about rugby on other rugby boreds again!!
