@Snowy I read an article where they (Stead I think) were suggesting a like for like replacement. Names mentioned in the article were Henry, Brackwell and Nuttall.
None of those seem "like for like" for me but from what you have read that is probable.
@Bovidae might also have it.
Is there any news on CDG?

They aren't like for like. 2 are new ball bowlers exclusively (Henry and Nuttall). At least Bracewell has form as old ball bowler, but that is circa 5 year history now.
I'd suggest Tickner. As potential to be effective with old ball compared to domestic contemporaries. But no one is Wagner.
Need to go green at Hagley. Really green. If we are selecting an extra new ball bowler.

Told yas. That is all.
Told us what?
Santner could get 2 (very much) tail enders out in the the last session of play on a turning wicket?
2 for 59. Game would probably have been over a lot earlier if he hadn't bowled 19.3 overs.
One of the first guys picked for white ball cricket, not an option for red ball. Don't think his 19 as an "allrounder" really helped either.
Yes, that's a perfectly adequate performance I want. Allrounder who may be effective if our 4 good seamers are getting nothing. Got some last day wickets when bouncer barrage on a pudding is ineffective
Not Daryl Mitchell. Our 4 good seamers are ineffective at the moment on this pitch, I wish we had a bowler who bowls like them 4 but not as fast and not as good, to change it up.

I just re-read the article and this is what Stead said
"I think it's likely it will be a like-for-like replacement, so you imagine it is going to be a pace bowler."The author of the article then threw up the three names.

@Snowy
Williamson chucks .To make sure he doesnt chuck, he needs to put in more time to his bowling practice loads than his body can now handle . His bowling is about as currently good as Baz's keeping. Its history.
Murali chucked, didn't stop him.
-
ICC did stop Kane. He failed. Officially chucked. He passed the retest after remodeling
But he has had Injury problems preventing him putting in the overs. He isn't comfortable or have muscle memory .He doesnt chuck them like its 2013.

Wow, just been reading through the comments on cricinfo FB page about our Kane being ranked no.1 in the world.
Just in case we we didn’t know it already, but jeez the vast majority of Indian fans are ignorant whiny little fuckers!
‘But he only performs at home’
Yea, bullshit.
And playing at home means green seaming decks motherfuckers. How did Virat go on those pitches last summer? -

Baz could still keep in a pinch (pretty sure he kept his last T20I), as can Kane when he feels the want to bowl.
This is a bit of a pull out all the stops situation with the injuries and test championship in play - I don't think anyone wants him to be the frontline spinner going forward.
With Boult/Southee/Wags/CdG all available in NZ conditions there is no reason why he can't bowl 2-4 overs as needed leading up to the second new ball (as he did this test).
That point is moot for this test coming up because with CdG and Wagner both out you really need to pick an overeater to keep Southee & Boult fresh. The balance becomes a worry with Henry.
