    Heazlet couldn't buy a run for the first half of his innings. He hit the accelerator when Pierson came in, and the Heat cruise home and are in to the prelim final.

    Not bad for a team that got hammered in their first I think 3 games

    I turned off last night fairly early and never expected the Heat to pull through even though at that stage they'd knocked the top off the Thunder order. I was confident the Thunder would go through, clean up the Scorchers and we'd see an all-Sydney final. That Thunder batting order headlining Hales, Khawaja and Ferguson, with hitters like Cutting and Sams in the middle order, should have cleaned up all-comers. Never mind. On the bright side, Mark Waugh will be annoyed which pleases me.

    Adam Milne - that 6/1 off 4 spell aside - was pretty underwhelming. I'm a little surprised he wasn't left out for McAndrew last night. To finish off his season he went wicketless yet again, conceded more than 9 an over and the score card reads that he was run out without facing a ball.

    @shark for 12 overs last night Bond and the bowlers' plans worked. The Heat could not score. But then, the danger of doing the same thing too often in T20 cricket kicked in, and the wide, full, off-speed stuff started get dispatched. Throw in a few too many full tosses, and it got ugly. In the end it was comfy. The Thunder really needed another 20 runs.

    The batting power play is great, it can completely change the game.

    Not even the best player in his family and getting ripped apart online.

    It's tough being "Junior" "Afghanistan" or ( my personal favourite ) "Audi" !!!

    @mariner4life

    Love the power play. Don't have any time for the 10 over bonus point (the Scorchers vs Renegades game was a prime example of how it shouldn't work) and could take or leave the X Factor players. I feel sorry for a guy like Xavier Bartlett who's involvement in several games was limited to bowling one over and fielding for nine. Ironic that he has that initial next to his name given how often he was subbed out.

    @shark yeah i posted above about Bartlett. Even worse last night when he had Khawaja absolutely plum for a duck and had it turned down.

    Peirson has been amazing under heavy pressure. With him Inglis Carey and Phillipe Aussie mirrors NZ in having so many keepers shining with the bat when it matters. Still hoping my Scorchers will return to form and win through.

    And the Heat's great run comes to an end after they were pretty much hammered by the Scorchers last night

    The Heat sent them in, and the pitch was a beauty. They lost one wicket and stacked on 189 in 18 overs before the rain came. If you bat that well you don't lose. Swepson the only bowler to perform, everyone got tapped. A team finally got hold of Laubuscagne's shit half trackers. Mitch Marsh is really fucking good at T20 cricket.

    Chasing 200 off 18 is basically impossible. And the Heat only got to 150. No one got going. Chris Lynn got himself out because he tries to hit every ball in to the next post code (Ponting was scathing in the commentary). But the Scorchers have good bowlers. Jye Richardson has the most punchable face in Australian cricket, but he's pretty bloody good.

    So the two best performing teams make the final, and it should be close.

    I'm looking forward to this game. Not that I'll be able to stay awake until the end, no matter what. Best result would be Colin Munro scoring a rapid hundy to set up a big total, then the Sixers chasing it down. I hope for a comms team of Howard, Guha and Symonds. Really only so I can hear more of Howard alluding to Guha's evening antics.

    I am backing the scorchers and hoping they deliver. Go Munro and Mitch Marsh! But Dan Christian is a trophy magnet and the sixers are very talented. Looking forward to it
