Brilliant droppie. That was 60+ on the fly
-
Now that's how you strike a field goal Harris-Tavita.
-
What a game!! That was bloody fun even if the result was a heartbreak. Great droppie to win it.
I am entertained

@african-monkey I've seen the clip of Lara Pitt making a very valid point and those two jerk-offs just dismissing her. it's the very definition of "mansplaining"
the two dumb pricks argue with current players about the current game! it defies belief.
deadshits.
I am loving the kicking they are getting on social media
I imagine their show's advertisers are loving it too. Isn't that the point of having these blokes going at it and encouraging the dedicated supporters to watch again next week because they dislike one or the other of the protagonists?
Last week the "antisocial" media over here were carrying on a treat because FoxSports had engaged Ray Hadley to be part of some regular NRL show on television. I had a look at the radio ratings etc reports and found this bloke has been top banana forever, his daily current affairs show has been piped into Queensland and other States even though it is Sydney based; he still leads callers of the NRL matches evidently; and is immensely prominent on some other front that I cannot remember.
People screech about how much they dislike him and tune in week after week to remind themselves they are quite right.
One imagines the Fox executives who sell the advertising minutes are acutely aware of the phenomenon and that is why they are paying for his time!

Impressive chase by that Cowboys forward, but impressive try by Walsh to not get flung into touch.
Crossed my mind that "whiplash" was present in that tackle too🤔
-
Somebody make sure we don't resign tevaga.
Totally lost the game for us.
Typical nz sides tho - no idea how to do drop kicks.

The way he landed on his back on top of the knee of the Cowboys player would’ve hurt too.

Origin sides are out, and thanks to injuries and suspensions, on paper these teams are actually very very close.
Game 1 was supposed to in Melbourne, but obviously that's fucked. So the call is it will move to Townsville. Predictably the Sydney media are blowing up deluxe about unfair that is, to have two games in Qld. So they have offered the alternative of, checks notes, Western Sydney...
hahaha fuck off cretins.
-
@mariner4life c’mon mate, for those living in the leafy streets of the Eastern suburbs or beachside areas of Manly and North shore, “Western Sydney” may as well be an entirely different state.
-
@mariner4life how the fuck does Sims continue to make the team lol. I understand picking "origin" players based on past exploits but fuck he must suck a mean dick. Good for QLD though as I feel this is a piss poor pack. AND I haven't even seen the QLD team yet lol.
But that back division for NSW is lethal.
-
@mariner4life origin sides are out, but why haven’t you posted them in here? How inconsiderate, now I have to go search for them myself 😉
Not that I know who half the players are these days anyway. -
Former champion Canterbury halfback and NSW Origin captain Steve Mortimer, 64, has opened up about his secret battle with dementia in the hope his condition will give today's playing group a reality check.
In recent days, leading players have reportedly spoken of ousting V'landys in the wake of record charges filed against players for making contact with the head.
Mortimer said his condition is "absolutely" linked to head knocks suffered during his career and that he got in touch with V'landys after reading reports about the players' stance.
"I said, 'you have just got to forget all these people who are against you'," Mortimer told News Corp of his conversation with V'landys on Monday.
"And these blokes who want to stick it up Peter V'landys or whatever have got no bloody idea.

@donsteppa it's very sad. Mortimer played in a time where raising the elbow, getting dumped on your head, wearing a clothes line and fisty cuffs were just part of the game. I'm surprised more player from his time haven't opened up about the effects of CTE. The game is now safer because of the rules around head contact but the pure size of the players involved heightens the risks in a another way. Greater force = more damage.
