    Paine drops another one

Yeeesh, the easiest of his drops too!

India are going at a very old fashioned run rate too. What exactly is their game plan here ?

    Bat time.

.....and back themselves to skittle Oz cheaply ?

Nah, watch the rain, scramble a draw and keep the gav/border trophy then return home to heroes welcome against the poms. Sound plan

That makes sense but just seems so defeatist, not to mention old fashioned. Test matches are usually played with much more aggressive tactics these days.

    Yes got 'im!!!

After decades we've finally beat down "the Aussie" to have a kiwi cricket type whine 😉. It's taken a lot of perseverance and losses but finally we've got the Aussies stooping to a good old kiwi cricket, "it's not fair"🤣

How about a role reversal: you've travelled to India twice in 3 years, had unprecedented series success, used 20 players, your best aren't there, you've been locked up for 2 months and you've got a chance to keep the trophy that has eclipsed the Ashes as most sought after. I think most of Australia would welcome a draw and a trophy🙂

Oz want it played at a rate of knots. This pace (which isn’t that bad) would be frustrating the hell out of the Aussies. That’s a psychological win for the Indians in my books.

Finally a big swing draws a wicket. They'd started to go the heave and this time the in-ducker gets it

@ACT-Crusader the irony being the current run rate is being anything but defeatist.
    A remarkable series

Amazing what happens when you bowl at the stumps.

TBF, they tried that for 20 overs and kept getting driven to the fence.

Interesting, the no look swipe. Looking at the pitch of the ball, like a goal kicker watching the tee

Yeah, why not bring on Green?

Especially if you're going to threaten short stuff at the other end

Greg Chappell, underarm bowl mastermind, pens letter to Tim Paine

The man who instigated the 1981 underarm bowling incident has some lessons to pass on.

Greg sounds like he regrets underarm 81 to this day

I bet he does, it generated so much controversy for nothing. I mean I wasn't actually alive when it happened but it still pisses me off. And the chances of him actually hitting a 6 on those massive boundaries with an old bat were almost zero.

Indeed. Christ we have an embarrassing inferiority complex when it comes to Australia. That ‘incident’ should have been forgotten decades ago.

How do you think it compares to Bodyline? Because that still gets raised every time the Poms are in Oz
