A few “tough” decisions ahead for Foster and co.
I reckon Scott Barrett, Akira, Sotutu come into the starting lineup.

So you liked the aimless locks in Puma #1 but you'd prefer more cards..

I actually thought SB played well, till he got tired and should have been subbed, but I can't bring myself to watch the game again to get another look.
I'd like to see Akira, Sotutu and a change in winger and coach

The first name, it's possible coz it's Ian Foster picking the team
The second two, no chance, coz it's Ian Foster picking the team. -

Moody, Coles, Laulala, Whitelock, Vaa'i, A. Ioane, Cane, Sotutu, A. Smith, R. Mo'unga, C.Clarke, ALB, Goodhue, R. Ioane, B. Barrett
Taylor, Hodgman, Lomax, Tuipulotu, A. Savea, Weber, J. Barrett, Jordan
It’s the team I would pick aswell except I like to see laumape at 12 as I’m not convinced with goodhue as a 12

He's got Jack at 13, ALB at 12. Which is the right way around I reckon.
-
Initial thinking:
- Moody
- Taylor
- Laulala
- Vaa'i
- Whitelock
- A Ioane
- Cane
- Sotutu
- Smith
- Mo'unga
- Clarke
- ALB
- Goodhue
- R Ioane
- B Barrett
Haven't thought through the reserves yet, but S. Barrett and TJP aren't in them. Tuipulotu needs to bring some more physicality back to his game off the bench. For a big unit with a lot of potential, he sometimes plays under his weight at the top level.
-
@Snowy well a pic I saw online had Goodhue standing outside ALB if you wanna read anything into that haha
Guess it depends how stubborn Foz is, given it looks like it is his preference to have JG at 12, but I think most fans saw last year ALB/12 with JG/13 was the better combo.

Sometimes? The guy plays like a big softie in black. I thought he had turned the corner with his Blues performances and captaincy but he has faded again.
He is either fatigued or simply struggles to impose himself at this level. He has no leg drive at the moment -

Patty T (if 100%, otherwise Barrett (S))
Yes he hasn't looked right
Which players the AB's put up for media sometimes gives a hint about selection. Yesterday it was Whitelock & Tuipulotu. I suspect there won't be a change at lock

I hope they've watched a lot of scrum videos.

@Crucial perhaps I was putting it mildly then
One thing is for sure, for the issues that there are with Cane's captaincy, he's not getting great support from his fellow official Super Rugby captains in the All Blacks:
Tuipolutu is sheer under-performing
S Barrett is a middling international performer, and is starting to make a habit of getting sent off (and losing) against Australia for dumb plays.
TJP could spend more time clearing the ball quickly, and less time; telegraphing his intentions, shouting at the ref & opposition players, and snarking at fans who aren't cheerleaders enough for him on Facebook.
Coles is becoming "aggressive" at silly stuff, and isn't stepping up the way his seniority suggests he can. He seems to show up on the wing more than Taylor does.
Aaron Smith is about the only one stepping up his game.

Whitelock also doing well. He's Crusaders Captain?
