Unfuckingbelievable.
If the Government are serious about the 'Net Zero' bollocks and getting us on public transport how can they allow this to happen?
I think the key question is how a Council can bleat about cuts to government funding but still find £51m for a car park no-one can enter.
See also Exeter City Council who, despite being virtually insolvent have found £52M to build a new leisure complex with three swimming pools (none to Olympic standard), including a 20M leaner pool with a variable depth floor (which seems the perfect solution to a problem that no-one has encountered), the main pool that does not have an adequate cleaning system and suffers from mould - oh and no parking facilities. The same ECC that decided going into property development would be an earner only to see its subsidiary property company collapse with £4.5M of losses, not including the £10M owed to ECC itself. They also forced through a £750K, 700m cycle path that has resulted in the inability of two way traffic to pass if there are any parked cars, which being a residential road, there always are. Said cycle path is in pristine condition because no fucker uses it. Meanwhile the city's roads are close to being unusable for cars or bikes due to the potholes and the city is overrun with weeds and has had a large proportion of its litter bins removed as a cost cutting measure.
What a bunch of complete fluffybunnies.

Official Stupidity - deserves a whole new thread.

@Catogrande this is the most minor issue with the cycle lanes Bromley/TfL decided to put in around Orpington station.
When they originally put it in, they took away pull in bus stops, reducing it to 2 lanes. One of those bus stops was a bus stand, on a main road outside an extremely busy train station.
So fucking ridiculous you just have to laugh, the litany of fuck ups makes for brilliant reading.

I was closely involved with the monumental fuck-up that is HS2. They planted 10,500 trees. In mid-Summer. On the site of a planned embankment. Facing South. With no cover. And no water. The trees died.
Thank fuck they planted them in the wrong place eh?

Restores what little faith I had in politicians. He’d likely get my vote.

Oh the irony.....
"Ireland is considering emergency laws to return asylum seekers to the UK after concerns about an increase in the number of people crossing its (open) border.
The Irish government is attempting to overturn a judgment by the Irish High Court last month that returning asylum seekers to the UK as a “safe third country” was unlawful because of the risk of removal under the Rwanda scheme.
However the UK government is clear it will not accept any returns. “We won’t accept any asylum returns from the EU via Ireland until the EU accepts that we can send them back to France,” a senior government source said."

The movement in Ireland to stop immigration / asylum is gathering momentum at one hell of a speed.
Huge protests over there which MSM chooses to barely cover.
Which is doubly ironic seeing how 'mobile' a large number of the Irish are

I've read there are something like 150k immigrants and asylum-seeking coming into Ireland every year. Utterly unsustainable for a country of 5m or so.

Balancing the books for all the Irish all around the world?

Well at least he lasted a bit longer than Truss. However good riddance to him and his "too many white people" speech. Blatant racist.
I can't be the only one who finds it amusing that Reeves and Hunt are now proclaiming Truss's policies - lowering tax, borrowing for growth and focus on productivity - as the only way forward.

From 2:25
To a man second division at best
Later on 'I'm proud to be a born and bred Scot' and in the next breath 'I'm a minority'
Make your mind up son

Great quips after his announcement
'Colour of his P45? White!'
'The flag the SNP are waving? White!'

Is that Alex Salmond on the left wearing a wig?

Ireland is worth keeping an eye on.. across the anglosphere nationalism has been kept in a small box, limited to things like sport. For historical reasons it's allowed more in Ireland
That means the ways anti immigration protests get shouted down don't work as well there
It's still more likely to fizzle out. It could get interesting though
