The strategy to play down the right end of the field was clear from both sides, but both sides attacking shape was seriously lacking tonight.

    Penalties killed both sides.

@Yeetyaah Not necessarily. Just a tough test where both sides weren't giving anything away.

@Derpus have to agree. They have shown how tough they are on D. Take points. Argies show nothing from set piece. Like SA they live off mistakes and kicks.

Shoudln't that be a penalty for placing the ball in touch???

You can run it out. You just can't pass it.

You can run it out. You can't place it out

He didn’t place it. He dived over the touch line with the ball.

He placed it in the process of diving, but yeah... Probably the right decision

I think it is hard for a 7 like Hooper to captain, half the time he is buried or scarpering. But the whole team well drilled to start with, seems to lack a great strategic brain on the field, I think it was theirs to win. Not the coach's fault but they're just short of..something. Maybe Toomua?

@Anonymous he dived over the line. Therefore it isn't placing it. Easy.

Hodge looked shattered. Actually made the comment about letting the country down. Two kicks to win drawn games this year. Poor bastard

@nostrildamus Toomua was a tremendous loss. Hes our best backline player, easily.

Petaia tries to do too much at times.

Sometimes passing is the right option Jordie.

Fuck you @Bones but what constitutes "foul play" these days is fuuuuucking soft

    Huh?

Was interesting to see what happens to Argentina when the ref holds both teams to the same standard in terms of niggle and foul play though. Argies really unable to get a roll on.

    Hooper really dislikes Williams eh.

Bashed up Hodge played pretty well actually. The Argies are a tough team, never going to be an easy night.

If the first contact in touch is the ball, you're technically placing it in touch. But yeah, it's grasping at straws to expect a penalty

If we are getting technical then I think his arms touched the ground first so what happens after that doesn’t matter.

I've not seen it refereed like that, tbh. I think unless it is pretty blatant pass into touch or place from a player on the ground, it's straws like you say
