New Zealand v West Indies

@Bovidae true but I’d imagine they were thinking it wouldn’t of this time of year
They probably thought it was one of their better chances of good weather, but February is about the only month I'd assume it wouldn't rain in NZ, even here
(though scheduling a cricket match always tempts rain, even in a drought...)

So frustrating that UK sky has a whole channel dedicated to cricket which is wall to wall replays of old crap and doesn't have this series at all.
Not sure what the point of a dedicated channel is when you don't bother to get the rights to one of the few series taking place. (Looks like they do not have Aus series either)
Total rubbish

At least I can stay vaguely aware from reading the musings here 😃

Will Young has been handed his Test debut against West Indies in Hamilton after BJ Watling was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Tom Blundell will take the wicketkeeping gloves and move down the order with Young partnering Tom Latham at the top. Young, 28, has been close to a Test debut before and was set to play against Bangladesh in 2019 before the final Test in Christchurch was cancelled following the terror attack in the city.
When I drove past Seddon Park today NZ was having a net session.

@Davesofthunder I read somewhere that in UK you can watch via the NZ cricket you tube channel (but have not looked into this properly yet).

There isn't any reason the Black Caps shouldn't roll this team pretty comfortably. Their batsmen especially are just bog standard test cricketers ( very similar to what NZ have fielded in the dark days ). Even the "next Lara" Darren Bravo has a fairly ordinary record after a brilliant start.
Kemar Roach is pretty dangerous and Holder is the glue that holds them together but you'd imagine away from home, fuck all class players.......always dangerous to say as a NZ cricket fan but this should be a bit of a caning.

I'm happy to shoulder that burden.
Holder would need to do a Beefy circa 1981 for them to win.
( which is tecnhically possible, he's a fine player )
