    Man in front of kicker?

Going to need arrows and lines drawn on it mate. Holds no credence around here otherwise.

If that is the kickoff after Vaa'i's try, half the Wallaby team was offside.

Hodge missed penalty at around 64th minute.

@pakman man in front of the kicker at restarts has been a thing for years now...seems officials let some of those things go now, similarly hookers with thier feet over the sideline at lineouts

Wallabies rookie Lachlan Swinton has been suspended for four weeks for his red card.

The All Blacks will fight Ofa Tu'ungafasi’s case before a Sanzaar judicial committee hearing on Tuesday night but the prop is facing a ban after his red card.

All Blacks coach Ian Foster is hopeful of a positive outcome for Tu’ungafasi and they will argue his case before a hearing at 7pm on Tuesday (NZ time) via video conference, chaired by Robert Stelzner SC, Lawrence Sephaka and José Luis Rolandi.

I'd say Ofa won't be available for either Arg test.

@Bovidae yeah you'd think his will be the equal of Swinton, only lessening factor is he used his arms, whereas Swinton didnt, but the head contact with Ofa's was worse, so I think 4 weeks will be about right.

    Funny article...

The fact that he singles out Cully, JK, Kearns and Horan, yet barely Marshalls comment is more a passing comment

    Compare the pair:
"Just let the game flow, ref. We're not here to watch you blow up technicalities!"
    Versus
"Aw fucken cheating Aussies a metre offside at the restart!"
    😎

@NTA it is still a thing for Grant Fox re the Hooker standing on the sideline when throwing...I was gonna bring it up at an event last year he was speaking at, but someone else beat me to it haha

Thought the impact was about the same in terms of contact, speed, and effect. Difference being tackler was moving fast in Swinton's case and not much in Ofa's case

In real time I thought Swinton's looked worse. League style shoulder charge as opposed to Ofa making a late effort with arms around a falling attacker. Both walked away fine so it was a shame the ref went to RCs, especially as the first decision gave him zero wiggle room

We've actually had the discussion before. It came down to the definition of the "field of play". The touchline is out so if the hooker's feet are touching the chalk then he is out of the field and it is legit. Think it was Damo (ref) who said how it is interpreted / ruled.

Still looks wrong and yes some of them aren't "on" the line but inside it at times.

@Machpants I don’t think it’s just mine, I think serval had said he deserves it

I guess my starting point is deliberate things, and yes sometimes it’s hard to tell, but deliberate things should cop a harsher penalty

Scott of the Barrett's deliberately interfered with the ball, while on the ground at a ruck. Deliberate professional foul so the ref was correct to yellow card him. There's no law in rugby that says teams have to be warned before being given a yellow card.

@Machpants I think if you look back through games you'll find similar stupid incidents like this getting yellow cards.

    Both walked away fine

On the night. But the whole point is avoiding concussion.

World Rugby are very aware that, if they aren't seen to be addressing the root causes of concussion (and CTE over the longer term), they'll open themselves up to legal proceedings.

    Meanwhile in the NRL...
