BOP v Auckland

That was a hard watch.
-
Poor performance from us I thought. We lack punch through our forwards with ball in hand and our bench didn't add a hell of a lot. The one area where BOP were far better than us was in the kicking department, otherwise we made them look a lot better than they actually were.

@Canes4life If it wasn't Auckland playing I would have turned it away a while ago.
-
If a score flattered a losing team , you have just seen it ..Auckland did their best to keep the home side in the game ..should never have been that close ..too much kicking when keeping the ball in hand should have been the order of the day..

Only caught the second half but effort looked much improved especially with Mitch back. Don’t know we didn’t go for the line out over a scrum for a couple of those late penalties, didn’t once look like running through them. Still much improved.
Well done Auckland

Did I miss something in the first half, how the hell did Emoni get 2 Monkley medal points? Couldn’t catch, tackling looked optional, jeez not even close to my best BoP player let alone 2 points.

@bayimports Thought Karpik was good for your mob.

he always seems good against Auckland. Ex Aucklander, so a bit of a chip?

Mitch was superb. In a game laden with penalties, he still had a positive effect for the Bay.
Unfortunate ending. Hate seeing a halfback fluff around when the ball is there to be played.
Bay was good at disrupting the Orc attack.
Both sides struggled with their set piece.

wound up fielding a whole lot of aimless crossfield kicks too, but did it with aplomb. Played well.
